I've actually tried playing as Reksai as well... she is pretty cool. I like the whole burrowing aspect. In terms of best champs by highest grade, Khazix, nunu, and miss fortune are my best (either that or Aurelion Sol)

If u think about it, heimer is kinda a counter to kha'zix because if heimer has turrets down, khazix won't be able to get that isolation off on his q which literally DOUBLES damage. It's so satisfying sometimes when I'm fed enough as khazix and I have enough items that I literally deal 1300 damage with my q. Plus the lethality negates some armor.

Man, Heimer is really bad if you know how to exploit him (literally just follow the simple rule of never walking near his turrets), but if you're a new player, chances are you're going to be walking into his win condition all game.

My first encounter with LoL was from accidentally finding Get Jinxed video and got interested since I've noticed she had all those weapons and wondered how they implement it in such a isometric game. Coming from a long history of competitive online shooter games this was a no go for me, I wouldn't drop my online CoD hours for LoL until I actually played it a few hours and got the hang of the mechanics and a few heroes. Jinx is the first legend I ever properly learned to combo and play comfortably and my God I got destroyed a LOT of times in the process, my friends were winning for picking her a lot and being dead most of the match. Then I started playing with more awareness and less panic, when I got used to her and got into my muscle memory I realized what a true monster she is especially if you control your "Get excited" proc properly and dont die like a noob charging 4 enemy champions alone. Then I realized how vision works and why its important to throw a ward here and there, how the fights unfold much more clearly and who to kill first, positioning etc. Suddenly I felt this awesomeness surrounding me being glad I am part of this now and I felt the buzz, understood why this game is so popular and a lot of people love it but dont admit it :D Then Arcane came out as a Jinx main and I completely lost my shit, I can't even sleep waiting for season 2...

We were all noobs together but pressed on anyway and helped each other learn the game as we all improved at different things. Since then two of us have hit plat although one friend is still hard stuck bronze, poor guy.

I only JUST RECENTLY stumbled into Arcane after a Schnee video comparing Jinx's and Daenerys' (from Game of Thrones) madness arcs, and I'm something of a writer myself, so most of the content I watch in KZbin aside from sports is about storytelling. I also remembered a lot of my friends that played or had played League in the past losing their minds over this series, so I decided to go for it. And BOY DID I HIT JACKPOT. I've been obsessed with it for almost two months now and exhausted all the series-related content and media I could have possibly found to ease the emptiness of finishing it, only having never played the actual game. It always struck me as too mechanical, time consuming and boring; and I would be some 10 years late to the party. BUT the actual most iconic podcast in Brazil, Nerdcast, did a Riot-sponsored special for Arcane with guests from Riot's national division and at the end they talked about how they'd be releasing their mobile game soon, and I remember instantly realizing (not thinking, as I believe I actually always had that feeling about League) how perfect the game's structure was for mobile. Thus, last week I downloaded Wild Rift - for the sole purpose of maining Jinx. And have since been studying the game in order to actually play it and understand what's going on. And then I went through the pits of damnation of the ADC trials until I had the hang of it. So I guess I went through your reverse journey, but it's nice to see how this character got others into the game, even if coming from different sources of media.

It's going to be a long essay filled with fangirling noises why and how i was interested to and ended up loving them especially T1, ANYWAY! what i want to ask you, how long did it take for you to grasp the game through the mobile version? I know this is an older video but, my first experience was...awful. I had friends who mentioned playing the game and asked me to join in. They assured me they would teach me how to play. Instead I (at the time a Level 2 player) was dragged into a game against Gold Ranked players. I was humiliated. The enemy team took turns just murdering me under turret, my team mates flamed, bullied and raged at me, despite knowing I was only Level 2. It's an experience that has stuck with me ever since over the course of the nine years I've been playing. I don't play ranked, I don't play the rift (except co-op vs AI). Only ARAM. - Also, I've since dropped those friends. They were clearly not friends if they were willing to do that to me.

been playing two years on and off and tbh i still barely know what's happening most of the time. I don't think i've ever placed a ward, my first instinct when i see an enemy champion is to run away or flash for no reason, and when i play with friends it's like listening to them speak a completely different language. i think the worst part about league is that i really do find it fun and interesting, but being bad at it is so embarrasing for me. it just makes me feel really stupid. Sometimes I feel weird about entering such a toxic and male-dominated community as a woman. A lot of ppl have the dumb idea that women cant play games. Idk if they think we're too stupid or that we should be shopping or cooking instead, but no matter what their reasons are I just cant help but feel excluded on the basis of my gender. And to get better I have to learn all these new terms and sit through long youtube beginner tutorials that i understand maybe 45% of. It is a very complicated game. I think it is probably super hard for me because of the fact that i'm not really a gamer. I mean, I play the sims 4, stardew, and minecraft on occaison, but League is the only "kill bad guy" type game that I play. It's extremely complicated and very intimidating. It also isn't very fun to have ppl get absolutely furious with you ALL THE TIME. sometimes i wonder if people know that it really is just a game and that it isn't that deep at all lmao. Despite all that, I still manage to have fun but i just wish i didnt have to be so awful doing it, yk?

LoL is just a really hard game, don't stress over it. I've been playing for a little less than a year now (supp main, I mainly play engage-oriented ones like Leona, Nautilus or Maokai) and GODDAMN I am still bad at this game. During the process of learning how to play, I've litteraly thought about my whole life and understood A FUCKING LOT about who I am and what to do. That's one of the reasons I like this game (and sports in general) because you learn so much stuff from them and you can apply the things you learned to other areas of your life. But yeah, still kinda bad, (I dont play ranked too much but I am bronze I, I think that's decent considering I've not put a lot of time into the game yet) but I know I have to strive to be better because I'll get to learn a ton more about myself in the process x)

He is really hard champion, but one of the most fun and rewarding ones once you learn it. I've started to main him recently, and I find him pretty enjoyable. The star management was a little stressful at first, but every hard champion has a stressful mechanic that you have to get used to. Although the main reason I started to main him, was the fact that he was a perfect combination of my two other mains, namely Bard and Xerath.

My first League experience was traumatizing. My friends (all high elo) convinced me to try LoL one day. I signed up, did the tutorials, and felt pretty confident. A few days later, they invited me to play a PVP match. I didn’t know what to expect but I was excited to try it out. So of course we were matched against other high elo opponents and…it was horrible. Noob me was playing Ahri mid against a Silas. 🙃 And then my friends went from encouraging to super frustrated because I kept dying to him or the jungler. They were so rude on voice chat and I was shaking/close to tears at the end of the match. I don’t play with those people anymore but that experience and other similar ones are why I usually stick to ARAM. I find it less stressful and it’s still pretty fun.

I also got dragged in by friends, my experience was very similar to the video. Them explaining stuff using terms i didnt even know the meaning of. Getting absolutely dunked by the opponents. I spent more time staring at the grey deathscreen than actually playing the game. I don't know why i didn't quit playing back then because i still remember how much i hated it. Still hate the game sometimes but still haven't quit so i guess thats just the way it goes, league is strangely addicting.

I remember playing early on. There were barely half the amount of available champions as there are now, but... here are some funny things to look into for mechanics. First story, I was Cho’Gath, and would demolish people with the r ability (I take a bite out of them, for a lot of "true" damage, meaning no armor nor magic resist can reduce the damage), after weakening them up with my other abilities. If the r kills the enemy, I gain bonus permanent health for the rest of the match. So I was doing well, and started chasing an Olaf, barely 1/2 health left, and I was destroying the enemy team so I was especially powerful! Of course he ran, for like 45 seconds he just ran. Olaf's r ability makes him unstoppable (by crowd control, like stuns and every other form of oppression). His w ability makes him gain a ton of life steal (heal a percentage of the damage you deal to enemies). Then, suddenly, he turned around and attacked me with everything. He healed so fast that my ult barely was not enough to kill him. Then he would just keep healing, and I couldn't stop it! So then I started playing Olaf for a while. Got this build made up to give me fast attacks and high damage with minor defense. I was doing epicly after several games of practice (against people my level, like 15 at the time). Then, as I was destroying the enemy team by the skin of my teeth (my health bar during big fights was basically 2/3 red the entire time, but my damage and life steal was so high that I just regenerated it back just as fast). Then I encountered Tryndamere. Tryndamer's r ability does not allow him to go below 1 hp for several seconds. Lifesteal works as a percentage of the damage you deal. So once Tryndamere got to 1 hp, he took no damage for a few seconds, meaning there was no life to steal. Yeah, he was able to kill me. So yeah, encountering champions new to me was... always surprising, but piqued my interest and kept me going.

So a word of recommendation to a new player: try to pick a specific lane and a champion for that lane, then work towards learning the game’s fundamentals for that lane. Once you’ve gained an understanding of the purpose of the lane, what your champion can and cannot do, what items are good for that champ (changes every 2 weeks due to patches tho), and get a basic understanding of what enemies do to your champion and how you can win, then try to play a second backup champion who is also good in that lane. I also recommend trying to play easier champions first so it’s easier to learn everything else, because I tried learning the game on zed. Bad idea

@@eira6844 As someone who has played League since 2013 (was on-and-off for the last 2 years) and played a lot of jungle and Kha in particular, i can say this: 1. Kha is a jungler and I would never recommend a beginner to try jungling. Compared to the other 4 positions, jungle is vastly different, you need other (more information packed) basics for it as well as a general understanding of the game. For a beginner, learning the game on a solo lane (top/mid) or on the duo lane with an experienced friend (botlane carry/support) is preferable imo. 2. Kha as a champ is not the most difficult one, but hes also not that easy to be honest. If you don't win early and snowball, you're useless. If you don't know, how and when to pick fights (Kha is pretty reliant on you being able to play around his passive), you will feed a lot. He is, in my opinion, a *very* fun champ to play, he's just not very beginner friendly. If you need any alternative recommendation, feel free to reply. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

@@eira6844 If you want to jungle I'd suggest someone who can clear more easily, such as Nunu and Willump, though like Der said Jungle probably isn't the best lane for a beginner since it is the most macro intensive and requires the most game knowledge. That being said if you really want to jungle, Nunu would be a great start, also I quite like Ivern though he plays a little differently, he is good for learning pathing and learning to watch the map at all times because you don't have to actively fight camps

Oh boi, what a ride. I started playing league 11 years ago after my siblings were doing so half a year earlier and they couldn't stop talking about league. Then on christmas, when I was reading a trilogy my parents gifted me, I decided that I could download league in the meantime (we had like 3mbit/s download and a crappy setup, it took 12 hours or so to download the game alone). My youngest sibling who only wanted me to play league with them so I could be their support, introduced me then to league by letting me play a bot game first (tutorial missions were different back then and not very informative). They always gave me a slap in the neck when I did something wrong (the joy of having siblings lmao). Afterwards it became my most played game of all time. I collected over 4000 hours of playtime with all of my accounts combined, next to playing minecraft and other time-intensive games. I loved every single second of it :D

When I started out League of Legends, I was mad in love with Master Yi, I just saw him as some "Oooo cool Sword man slash enemy plenty, ooo so anime, so cool, so badass" and then I kinda had fun, despite the fact I was definitely not good at the game and was absolute dogshit. I didn't really play him jungle AT ALL, nope, not at all, I think I played him mid because I thought it was the "Haha, I'm in the middle because I'm the main character in this game"(I can't believe I was born to be a League of Legends player, even though I main jungle now) and then slowly but surely I started transitioning into my new favorite champion, Amumu. I don't really know what drew him into my heart, but god damn, I will be proud enough to say he's my main despite all odds, maybe a little too proud though, refusing to believe he has his weaknesses and just blaming the game for being bad because I don't always do well.... or not carry. Anyways, I only learned to play Amumu jungle after a year or so, I was playing him solo bot. Yes, I tell my teammates I'm playing him at bot, solo. Pretty chad but it's definitely naive. I also built pure mana on him, I don't remember the exact items but I definitely stacked as much mana as possible, the idea? Permanent W, it may have been years but I ain't forgetting my "W is always gonna be on", why? I didn't want to turn off my W in the slightest. Well gradually, I think I've improved at the game. Somehow. But I'm still stacking mana on Amumu though, well, a probably more proper build this time. Regardless, League of Legends has its ups and downs, its fun if you let it be. Its always gonna be fun, depending on you. Teammate issues will be no problem if you're chad enough.

i remember i got into league because of my interest in the lore and watching league content, i like you chose my first champ without knowing much about them, interestingly i also chose a monster from the void that is a jungler, mine was bel'veth when i was about to join my first game i watched a video with all of the runes she builds and items, i however didn't knew about the starting items, so at the start of the game i would build an item to help me build my mythic and would ignore the jungle starting items, so i didn't had the jungle mana recovery, monsters lifesteal, extra exp when behind and the upgraded smite, in short i would go to base alot before actually killing all my monsters, at the end of the game i would still be kinda helpfull but i wouldn't get the outcome i wanted by playng her, that being attacking my enemies like a machine gun (later i figured out was because i was with the wrong rune, the rune i should've picked was lethal tempo that removes your max attack speed after some hits), heck to this day even after having 32 games on amumu i discovered recently that you can smite enemies.

i highly recommend just playing a couple of games by yourself after watching a basic guide on league here on YT because the tutorial is completely crap. but i wouldn't recommend playing against the AI. even on the hardest difficulty bots aren't real players. it doesn't matter wether you're bad, or if your teammates or friends are bad just play and learn the game. players have their own quirks (like dodging sideways the moment they think you're going to cast a skillshot) that you can ONLY experience playing against real players. Bots won't learn you how to play league, your opponents will.

@@febbergamming5354 It would take a LOT of effort to make bots that are better than iron 4 players. since thinks that are obvious for humans in a moment cant be very hard to put in code. and yes it would be a machine learning made bot. but those are already made for third party lvl 30 accounts bot farmers. and all they do is just try to kill minions and back is low hp so some accounts make it all the way to lvl 30 without a ban. and here is the thing if riot wanted to make hard bots they just need to use the same targeting and doging scrips they ban. but those would make no sense to improve against since they dont train you in how to land skillshot they just do the math to always make the right move so the only times you actually hit them is when is impossible for them to dodge with their currrent move speed and space aviable. same for practice dogging. they will almost always land the skillshots on you even if its a challeger player.

when i first met hiemerdinger i played him. i couldnt get a kill but i also couldnt die, so i saw that as a net win

I had a similar expirience when my friends wanted me to start playing Dota 2... after one miserable game I uninstalled it and after a few months started playing LoL.... The knowledge I had from watching my friends play Dota 2 and _some_ experience in it, I had a much better time in League, knowing about the items, creeps, lanes, and objectives helped in learning how to play. I still sucked ass even against bots but at least I knew the basics and had room for improvement After spending a lot of precious Blue Essence on champions that I will never play (A-Sol included, he's too hard to master) I can now call myself a proud League of Legends player! (whether I should be proud of that or not is up for debate) That also taught me how you should explain a game like this to a new player so I consider it a win (not for my time-management though)

I took the exact same path as you. Started Miss Fortune moved to Kha’zix, though I don’t recall dying to jungle monsters much at all… mostly the Master Yi running at the speed of light.

So when I first played, a toxic noob called me out for farming coins for minions in a fight, when I wasn't I was fighting with him and almost killed the but he was left on 1hp because of his abilities and he kept trash talking me because he was salty and he kept doing it while my team defended me and he sucked and rage quited so lol that was fun

I did two games against computers and then played a game with my real-time friend who was in diamond League. He said: just play Annie, everybody can play Annie. I went 1/10... The truth is that knowing how to win the game can be somewhat counterintuitive in lol. I'm good now but it took a long time. Very amusing video btw I really enjoyed it. You picked the worst champions to start with and performed accordingly :)

When I started I had my friend whitch was a great teacher btw we begun rough and every death he was expressing his feelings on how he wanted me to drop dead irl but he explained things really well and after my first 5 games or so I began 1v9 with ww and trist I now reached d1 and he is still gold but I owe him for my success

Learning league of legends is like a baby college course. Trust me, most people who play league (myself included) can really take for granted that you just casually know what a 150 characters do, just about all 450 of what their basic abilities do, what they're 150 ultimates do, what they build, what role they play, what they're playstyle is in a teamfight, who they synergize with, and how they scale. To know the 5 roles, to know which of the ten or so summoner spells they take, to know what objectives are prioritized and where to be at what stages at the game. It is absolutely astonishing as a League player taking a moment to realize just how much learning it has taken to consider myself comfortable with the game, and this is even just at what some would consider the lowest most basic level of play. Believe me, the learning curve to playing league is humongous and I believe it's more demanding on any player trying to learn this game from square 1 than any of my league games. Trust me, the knowledge peak is massive but once you slowly crawl over it you will feel like you wield a kind of information and skill you wouldn't know before. P.S. Wards, baby. Not to mention it's constantly changing. I went against an annie today and expected to do fine against her but her build was insane and ended up carrying the whole team so now my previous knowledge of annie is totally conflicting and I have to figure out if this was just an insane smurf or if Annie got some type of buff that vaulted her strength up.
