I struggle to watch videos with Garrett and Shane. Garrett is always treated so poorly. I could never understand what Shane's problem was with Garrett... I grew up in a Horders house and while I did I told myself I would never do that but when I turned 18 and moved out on my own I didn’t have lot but the things I did have were everywhere and dishes piled etc. After a few months of that a friend came over and we did this exact process, it was VERY difficult to step back and see that I was slipping into that house I grew up in. She was kind but serious and ever since then my place is clean and my mental health is so much better! I’m watching back Garrett’s videos and as much as I hate Shane now... I genuinly miss these moments. You can tell that Shane, Ryland, Morgan and Andrew care so much about Garrett in this moment. When I watched this video back when I was a fan of Shane it genuinly felt like Shane was a really good friend to all of us and that he was genuinely empathic. Obviously I don’t know what went on behind the scenes (and I don’t think Garrett and Shane are friends anymore). But I genuinly miss watching these videos and feeling less bad after a bad day because of their friend group and the good energy they all portrayed to us.

@@alianarodriguez6320 Yeah, I agree to an extent. I think people, especially celebrities, are a lot more nuanced than we assume them to be. Clearly he's done stuff that's inexcusable and is likely very toxic in certain contexts (I am too). But that doesn't cancel out the good qualities or make them fake. I think Garrett probably brought those good qualities out as opposed to people like Jeffree or Trisha who exacerbated his more harmful traits

So- call me crazy- but I think the perfect thing for Garret would be owning one of those little odds and ends shops. He's drawn to interesting and old things, and it would keep his satisfaction of having these items. He could admire them while he had them and when someone wanted to buy it he could pass it on to someone else to admire. I think he'd find a lot of satisfaction in it. He invests his money in these items already so he may as well put them in a shop to be sold again one day

I'm so happy you made this video. This is a huge issue for a lot of people (myself included) but NO ONE talks about it. My reason for living in a messy room is probably my same reason for not going for my dream job and eating healthy and... the list goes on and on. Major procrastination with also some self-sabotaging in there, and anxiety maybe playing a part of it. The thing is I WANT to do all these things. I look up home decor for fun all the time, and dream about how great my own place would be. Same for work and exercising and eating right. But, when it comes down to it I don't. I inch away at my goals without making any real progress, and when I try to actually do it, I procrastinate and the thought of doing the work exhausts me to the point that I don't. I'm proud of you for coming out on the other side, I hope I can do the same. Why is it so hard to do the things we want to do for ourselves sometimes?

We all know that Garrett is precious and a gem and this video just shows that even the best of us deal with self destructive habits. I love this video because we all need a little help sometimes even if we don't admit it to ourselves. Internalizing things because we think letting people in would turn them away from us only isolates us more. I guess this is the "Inside the life of Garrett Watts" that we all wanted from Shane but in all honesty as much as I love your wackiness and fun, carefree, hyperactive self, showing vulnerable or tough things to talk about about yourself is something I think a lot of us could benefit from because honestly it's what I think I want to get better at. I want to be able to ask for help when I need it, to express my emotions better, to take care of myself better so that I could be more productive and happy.

I can picture Garrett with an art studio where he makes little trinkets and things with little sculptures and create bizarre stories with them and mix different figurines together. Its an art form for him i think and it would be fulfilling i think for him to create more of those types of things because itll give him a release of all those creative juices and will probably prevent the hoarding and kind of switch where his train of thought wants to go with hoarding to something productive he loves and is fun for him. And instead of having a space thats messy itll be like a tiny sanctuary of all his unorganized thoughts put into art.
