Its ok Amy , I dont personally know you but I feel like its not about you not being ready for a relationship or even that you feel you cant seem to fit in one, its more about you not having the patient so you take the seeds out before the plant has a chance to grow. . You are capable of having long and caring relationships, just look at your group of friends, they all love you, the good and the bad, and you feel confortable with them. So you CAN have that type of feeling also in a romantic relationship, but, you have to first of all stop idealizing what is a romantic relationship. I get it, you want a partner in crime kind of love, and anything besides that its just feel superficial. But first, you need to walk the walk, you canot expect to be that intimate with a person, to get a real connection with someone if you dont let yourself be vulnerable first, if you dont let go of all the control all the overthinking and even, lets be real ,all the mistrust everytime you meet someone. Because everytime you do that, everytime you feel that disconfort appearing and either you compare it to past relationships or try to find some flaws in the present situation or if that doesnt work you try to imagine bad scenarios for the future, you will keep with the self sabotage and not be able to really focus on knowing the person you just met. And you really need to allow all the flaws, both yours and the person you are meeting, to just be, no control, no fixing ,no if, just let it be and give it a go. Things dont need to start perfect sometimes they just need to start.
