Girl you are like the poster child for autumn. How you could think you are a winter is beyond me. We just don't see ourselves at all

I think it’s also a lot more obvious in this where I’m wearing all autumn tones in my makeup and everything, since my undertone is neutral it wasn’t that obvious before!

So true! I used to always wear deep/dark colors and I’m a Light Spring. I got interested in color analysis, because I “realized” I might be a Summer. I’m not bad at guessing others’ seasons, or describing their characteristics. I’ve even been told I have a good eye for photography. I think we just aren’t objective about ourselves, because we see ourselves all the time. I, sometimes, used to buy Cool foundation and it would look too white. It’s easy to confuse Light with Cool, when looking at makeup. Color Analysis has simplified my wardrobe and helped me avoid buyer’s remorse. P.S. Darn! My heart went away, when I edited, because I saw a word missing in a sentence I wrote. Thanks for the ❤️! It’s been SO empowering, finding my season and subtype. I’m looking for work in a new field and know which colors to wear, to help others see me, rather than distract them. I can easily avoid colors that make me look ill, low energy, or just not well put-together. It’s definitely time and money well-spent!

@@itsmarinaann. I can see that, when I look at your “before” photos. I’m not sure if it’s makeup, but I see a bit of a pinkish rosiness in your cheeks, which could be confused for a cool undertone. I used to buy mostly Autumn colors, until I found out I’m Light Spring. I still wear some of them and the olive, rust, browns, etc. make great neutrals with a lighter, brighter version of the same color, as a top. Voila! It’s a Spring look. I still wear all the cardigans, because as long as it’s not the color nearest your face, it’s fine…especially if it’s the right temperature. Starting by wearing makeup in your season is ingenious! I also like the idea of using a scarf 🧣 in “your” palette, to correct old outfits (House of Color tip). I, too, noticed I’m not buying as much makeup and clothing I never use, because I hate it, when I get home. That almost never happens, now…only if I order something online and it doesn’t look like the photo, although it’s still hard to match foundation. Not as hard, because I know I’m going to need a Light, Warm Neutral.

I am a dark autumn and I hate warm colors. I think the part that’s left out of color analysis is the reality that just because something is most harmonious and flattering on you, does not mean that you’re going to like it.

Had a similar experience was like wtf I get all these muted warm colors. However as dark autumns we can emphasize depth and focus kn the darkest ends of the autumn palette if that’s more your thing

I did almost exactly everything you did! Using apps, color draping myself (virtual and real life), taking millions of pictures.. and ended up deciding I was a winter. Started wearing winter colors just like you did but I felt like I was trying too hard. It didn't feel natural for some reason. So I decided to pay for Carol's virtual color analysis as well. TA-DA! turns out I'm also a True Autumn. Couldn't believe it at first. I was like... me??? warm undertone?? really?? I felt SO exposed in the true autumn colors. So then I knew she was right, of course. You could finally see my face clearly. Now I'm enjoying changing my wardrobe little by little. And as I see more True Autumns, I can definitely see the similarity with my own coloring.

You look WONDERFUL in your colours girl!! 🤗 it looks like you’ve barely got any make-up on. A natural beauty. I had my colours done in July. I was so sure I was a Bright Spring, and was ready to through out all my black clothing since I’ve never been a fan of it anyway, only to find out that I’m a Bright Winter the only season that CAN wear black! I was in shock to say the least. 😳😱😳 since then I went mad going through my wardrobe taking out everything that wasn’t in my season, and to be honest I’m not left with much. some days it can be a struggle. But I’ve found joy in not rushing to buy things I don’t LOVE, just because it’s in my colour season. And I’m truly beginning to love my winter colours. ☺️ So thank you for sharing this video with us. For me it was well worth the investment. I have no doubt about my colours, and soon enough I’ll have a wardrobe full of clothes that work together harmoniously. Can’t ask for any more than that. 😉

She was right with your results - you look FANTASTIC in the Autumn palette!!!

Yes! The iridology (eye pattern) stuff was so helpful! I was stuck between Spring and Summer, before my analysis, Iridology and color analysis post on Pinterest solved the mystery, for me. I have very fair skin, which made it hard to determine my undertone. I have green eyes, which can be either season or something else, and Strawberry hair. I found out my “flower pattern” and Spring Gold Ring (around the pupil) suggested Spring, not Summer. Autumns often have a darker copper or brown ring around the pupil, though many eye colors are possible, for any season. Sounds like yours were tricky, too! Later, color analysis determined me a Light Spring, so it did help. Another sign was the dark Olive ring around my irises. Contrast between the outline and the whites of the eyes suggests a bright/clear season/subtype. Light Spring is typically bright/clear. My mom did this with me and she is Soft Summer. Her eyes are light blue/gray and do not have a visible outline, or almost none. Her eye color blends into the whites, which gives her a soft, gentle appearance. While I can wear bright colors near my face, my mom needs soft (muted) colors, because brightness overwhelms her features. All eye colors are beautiful 🤩 . Wearing the best colors to enhance them feels like magic 🪄! Color analysis, whether DIY or professional (or both, in stages), is a great experience to share with family and/or friends…good memories with my mom! 💚👩🏻‍🦰👵🏼💜 These emojis legit look like our skin and hair shades & best colors, except she still has more light ash brown. 😂

Thanks. I am also a true autumn assessed by Carols partner at III here in Toronto. I have a fully warm undertone and need the shaded hues in the palette as my intensity is higher than one would expect in TA. Bright white hair! This is a great explanation of how we differ even within the same palette.

I’m also an autumn . I have brown, yellow green hazel eyes. I have warn medium light skin, but the confusing part is I have very dark ash hair. The hair kept confusing me. But then I realized that when I was more youthful the sun would bring out blonder highlights. Now it’s darker and grey with some whites. Actually not all warn colors flatter me , I’m fall more into soft autumn as I’ve aged.

You look AMAZING! Gorgeous. During the pandemic I used Carl as well and she is not only brilliant and super sweet when we had our visual chat on zoom. She clocked me as a Warm Spring and she is 100% correct. As a guy I had tons of black t-shirts, a black over coat, etc.since the fashion industry tells us that black looks good on everyone and a perfect neutral, right? WRONG! Once I got my results as a Warm Spring I had to shop for a new overcoat (I live in Switzerland and I really needed one) I go to the store and instead of looking for the true tested black I looked only for a navy blue, dark green or medium golden brown. I saw one that was a a golden brown, tried it on and some lady sees me and says 'wow, only you can wear that'. Bought it immediately and what a great buy. And yes, it cuts down on shopping time. Congratulations!

You look lovely! The moment I saw you I thought to myself 'what a lovely Deep Autumn this girl is!', although I have seen before Deep Winters who didn't have the highest contrast, so I was waiting to hear your reveal. :) What slightly confuses me is that, according to what I have learned about 16 subgroups Color Analysis System is that True season applies when person suits equally well all 3 subgroups of that particular Season - in your case, Autumn can be Soft, Warm and Deep. If color options for all 3 subgroups look equally well on you, you are True Autumn and you look the best in exclusively Autumn palette. However, if you analyst said that you look the best in Deep Autumn palette, that would make you Deep Autumn and your sister season would be Deep Winter, meaning that you can wear some colors from Deep Winter Season, since both Deep Autumn and Deep Winter share the same characteristic - depth, which would be your predominant characteristic, if Deep Autumn palette is your best one. You can test this by trying on some Deep Winter shades, having in mind that not all of them would suit you well, but those deep, rich toned, saturated ones which are not very cool but more on a neutral side most certainly would. If you were True Autumn, you wouldn't look good in any other palette, and according to your photos, you look quite well in many cooler tones. Also, there is no such thing as neutral undertone. If you imagine all colors being on the spectrum, some of us lean more or less toward warm or cool, some are at very extreme ends of the spectrum - very obviously cool or warm, other lean towards center of the spectrum, and are more subtle regarding warmth or coolness. That means that temperature (warm or cool) is not their dominant characteristic, further more meaning that they will be able to wear both cool and warm colors as long as they are not extremely opposite to their undertone - in your case, you can wear cool colors as long as they are not too cool (IMHO), if you, indeed, are Deep Autumn, as I believe you are. If so, deep colors suit you best. If you were Soft Autumn, softness would be your dominant characteristic and you could wear Soft Summer's colors (those which are not way too cool). If you happen to be Warm Autumn, you could be borrowing colors from Warm Spring. I was confused my entire life, being naturally very light and pale, also very cool, why I look best in soft colors of Autumn, especially when it comes to make up - pink brown, even full browns looked best on me, also brick redish terracotta blusher and lipstick. I'm as cool as it gets. But, I'm Soft Summer, so my sister Season is Soft Autumn and that explains it. As long as my browns and bricks are not too orange and warm, I'm fine. Sorry for the long post. Oh, the last thing - you don't have to give up on black mascara - it's not that big of a deal, as well as accessories. Little touch of 'wrong' color is OK, or if you wear it away from the face - like trousers, accessories, etc. I'd use brown-black mascara if I were you - I feel it would match perfectly your beautiful hair and make your lovely eyes pop. Brown is a bit on a softer side and you need depth. Stay well, all the best! XOXO

My analyst said I am a True Autumn with a neutral-warm undertone (warm but not like super warm / leaning neautral) and that I look best in the deepest colors of the True Autumn palette, not the Deep Autumn palette ◡̈ hope that helps clear it up!❤❤

I think that the pics you showed were just really bad pics. Would you say watching this video back that this is closest to your complexion? Id like to see you in this filming camera no makeup, then drape your old black, grey, pure white, and your brown, tan etc. If you can thrift store orange, and fushia to be the most telling warm vs cool. Could also try a brown lipstick vs revlon fushia fusion. I would like to see from this experiment how very right Carol was or how very wrong. Just a video idea from me I'd like to see. I think you're young and beautiful even in a burlap sack.

I don't think they're bad pictures, I really do look very different & unhealthy in those colors. The only difference between all the pictures is the colors I'm wearing, I was wearing similar makeup or no makeup in all of them. She was definitely right, the difference is huge. I don't think anyone's skin tone shows very accurately on camera in videos because the camera is constantly auto-adjusting the lighting and colors to what's in the shot, so it's kinda hard to actually show the difference live like that

Haha, I could obviously see that you're an Autumn from the DIY test you did. The cool colours are harsh on you. But I think, it's always hard for people to be objective over their own analysis because we all have colours we are drawn to. So, unconsciously, we want to believe we look good in those colours. I'm a total opposite of you in which I love autumn colours and then got winter instead. My result is a True Winter. It's a total chaos for me. I didn't want to believe that I look good in winter colours because I never like those colours. It's really hard to accept. Been a few years already since then and I had to admit that all the people around me kept saying that winter colours are the best for me. And even in pictures, I look so young in winter colours. The compliments I'm getting definitely help me to move on from the disbelief 🥲. You just get used to it. I would recommend getting some inspirations from your favorite celebrities or drama characters that also look super good wearing your colours. It definitely help to see the colours we don't like more positively. For me, since winter colours are used more by Korean celebrities, I kept searching for them to get the idea on how I can wear the colours more creatively. Because tbh, I got stuck at first on how to use the colours because of how much I didn't like the colours. Looking at how the stylist actually put it on the celebrities, I slowly got the idea on how to wear them now. It's a nightmare to have to say goodbye to pastels and start wearing crayon colours instead. Some people might say we could just wear the colours that we like regardless of how we would look in it. But I couldn't wear the pastels anymore realizing how awfully tired I look in them. Especially at my older age, I don't want to look sagged. I got winter icy colours to ease me now with my yearning for pastels. But I just discovered them recently Bought one of the very icy lilac top. My sister said I look so pretty wearing it. Very different from wearing a normal pastel. Thankfully. My life is saved now 😂. I can keep going. Now I can start wearing light colours again in this hot all summer country. Just need to remember to have some contrast in combination.
