My GEWA Pure violin case (spoiler: it's awesome!)

This is my new violin case and I think it's awesome! In this video I'm showing it to you so you know what it looks like. I love how much storage space it has, plus I love that carbon fiber look on the outside!

I frequently ask to sit in with other musicians. If they don't know you, the first thing the look at is your gear, to see how serious you are. For better or worse it matters. I recently broke my case and started using a really cheap cloth/foam case I had in my closet, and the differences in people's reactions to me were very noticeable. #humans

Nice practical case, with good design. I still have those stock cases that can hardly fit anything in, can't even fit in a shoulder rest.

Good alternative to the Gewa Air case, for which I paid a lot more and is just 0,1 kg lighter. No idea if there are more differences.

That actually looks great, one thing, it's big so if you're flying it may be difficult to get it on board. Get another ticket I guess... in a normal small case maybe they let you on with it, but I guess that's always a problem with flights you can never trust them. Other than that I love it and if I ever make it to a few years and be as good as you, and get a violin, then I would surely consider it... By the way I love it how enthusiastic you are and I think it's the only way to get into a hobby like this when you're an adult - go all in.

Another violin case I have is about the same size and I could take it with me as hand luggage on a plane, which is the only acceptable way of bringing an instrument with you on a plane ofcourse. And thank you! It's incredibly rewarding to have a hobby that means everything to you!

This looks really nice, but I have one important question since I have a rather tall chin rest (Kreddle). Do you think it is possible to close the case or it is too tight for that? Unfortunately I have that problem with my current case so I constantly have to remove my chin rest whenever I travel with it....

I have been looking for a violin case that I could carry by bike. I have a child´s chair on my bike and I need a case that stays higher on my back. Unfortunatelly I couldn´t see in your video, when you wear it, how deep it goes. Do you have any experience carrying it on a bike? I think it may be possible because the higher D holder is not on the top of the case. Thanks for the video.

I bought a aeternum viola case 8 years ago; it was even adjusted for my big viola, for some extra money. But so far so good... I was very proud with my new fancy case and took great care of it: after 8 years it stil looked like new. But last year I wanted the case to be checked by Musafia: I noticed some loosening of the plates (case internally) and while they’re at it having the gilding re-done. So I brought it to the shop where I bought the case. They said it was no problem and sent the case, with my wishes, to Musafia....but Musafia refused! Because I didn’t have the case checked yearly, ... the shop-owner told me he didn’t understand Musafia’s reaction and never heard of this ‘rule’... They explained to Musafia that my case almost looks like new! But they would only do the service if I would pay all the costs...so NADA service! I am not a famous violist, nor do I own a fancy violin,...I bought the expensive case for a reason...but Never again!

Je viens d'avoir ce coffre. C'est une immense erreur de ne pas avoir fait un rangement de partitions de la taille A4 !!! Et il y a des ingénieurs chez Gewa ??? Pour enlever cet étui (on le voit dans la vidéo, la fille tire très fort dessus et n'y arrive pas) On a l'impression qu'on va tout arracher et tirant dessus.

i started violin a year ago and got a samuel eastman vl80, i saw the gewa air 2.1 case in collab with ray chen a year ago. And I saw it on sale for 560$ (cad) so around 320 gbp and got it ! It will be my violin case for the next 10 years !
