A COUPLE whose love started through TikTok, have hit back at trolls who have attacked them for their 37 year age gap. 24-year-old Quran first met Cheryl, 61, when he worked with one of her family members and they instantly had a connection. Their friendship developed and deepened through a mutual interest...TikTok. Quran started to develop feelings for Cheryl and felt like he had to go for it! He told Truly: "I asked her out and I caught feelings first, we decided to make it into a relationship because we were both happy". Then to their delight, their TikTok videos absolutely blew up so much that they even had celebrities reposting and commenting on their content. However, despite the couple growing from strength to strength, not everyone was accepting of their new found love, with them receiving hate comments every day. Quran said: "They call her a zombie, the walking dead, how can you date your Grandma?" As well as these awful comments, people kept questioning whether their relationship was actually genuine. The couple added: "You will never find happiness if you spew hate, we're happy and you can't stop us!"

This hits close to home because I suffered depression for many years from close family death. My life was lifted when I fell in love with a man 12 years younger than I, and the family members that I have left have bullied us and blocked me out of their lives because of the age difference. It hurts to lose family over something like this. Love is definitely not a number. If the people are two consulting adults and love eachother unconditionally, that is truly all that matters. He and I eloped a couple weeks ago and we couldn't be happier. God bless these two lovebirds.

As a muslim i can respect big age gaps (the prophet - peace be upon him - literally married Khadija when she was 40 and he was 25). We are taught that as long as both give consent and mature enough then its okay. But in cases like this- this is just too far. There is NO way you can convince me a 50 yr old woman would fall for a 16 yr old. Especially if she has kids. Something about this relationship rubs me the wrong way honestly. Like i get big age gaps and im very respectful and understanding towards them but when its CLEAR that its way over the limit and unbelievable then there’s something wrong.
