Common Cosmoteer-Engineer: "Sir, how many Ion Beams should we build?" Me: "Yes"

I really like your videos. Also you're one of the few people that do cosmoteer videos until this day so watching your cosmoteer videos is always something special.

since you are so good at building ships i have a question. could you build the theoretically strongest possible ship using the 1000x1000 grid? i've tried this a few times, but i'm not that creative or good at the game. the only limitation here is the number of crew, since from (i've never really tested it) 4000 the crew doesn't do anything anymore because the ki can't keep up. I know that every ship is a tradeoff and there is no “perfect” ship, but I would have a similar one in mind like this one, as a slow tank with ion beams and missiles. since this is quite a lot of work, and i don't think you want to do it (which is totally understandable :D), would it be possible for you to build just an empty ship, like a hull? as a concept art? that would be helpful to get some new ideas :)

Hmm that sounds like an interesting challenge, as you already said I am not sure if I want to try this, but I think either extremly long railguns or a massive amount of Ion-beams is the way to go here. Depending on the inner structure, nukes or missiles might also work. At this size I would be cautious to use deck cannons deep inside the ship, since they have limited range. And the ship doesn´t necessarily has to be slow, with the extendable thrusters you can already reach a good speed I guess. But thats all specualtion, I haven´t tried this grid size out yet... Yepp I am intrigued XD lets see what I can do here. Thanks for your idea and have a good day!

capacitor spam :despair:
@Gobbo-GamerКүн бұрын
yeah true XD, there were so many Ion beams that needed quick energy supply, so I decided to spam capacitors and people, I don‘t care too much about efficiency anyways hehe

@@Gobbo-Gamer 1 large reactor for 10 beams is enough, capacitors just run out.
@Gobbo-GamerКүн бұрын
@@Markty07 yes I know, 1 large reactor can theoretically power 10.8 beams to be precisly, the problem was, that the beams further away from the power source ran out of energy regularly, and with capacitors the long-term power supply is way more stable, but maybe I just had the wrong setup... I assume, that 1 capacitor/2 beams is already enough, but I didn´t try it out, and in the end I think it doesn´t matter if you have to spend 16.0 or 16.1 Mio credits for the entire ship... so I just kept it simple for myself :D Thanks for your ideas and comments, that´s super helpful for me! Have a nice day ;)

May I ask, what is the cost of this?
@Gobbo-Gamer18 сағат бұрын
4.8 Mio for the core module and 6.8 Mio/ claw module, so yeah its quite expensive. But surely a lot of fun to use in a campaign XD I wish you a nice day!
