I have a closest friend and he is a good man who would never do something like this and unlike this story he would not stand a chance against me in a fight anyway but I tried mentally projecting and imagining him doing this to me (takes a lot of imagination since I am not even in a relationship with a woman right now) and just IMAGINING this level of betrayal caused my blood pressure to go up slightly. I cannot even conceive of enduring this level of betrayal in real life. The ONLY level of betrayal that might be even worse (though only slightly) would be if you substitute "wife" for "girlfriend".

*Shakes head and sighs* You've been hurt. But at the same time, by the end of the story, you sound like you do miss her. The question that is probably important is, did she sleep with Ethan, and do you believe her when she says she didn't? The usual things people point out is, did she ever start hiding her phone tablet, etc. when you entered a room, did she .ever start having a lower sex drive around you like im too tired. im not in the mood multiple times.Did she go out a lot on 'girls' night, "and you were not able to cooberate with the other girls to see if it's true. She was obviously abused at least once by ethan, but she probably thought she could help/fix him using dumb girl logic. Want my honest opinion get counseling together. She stuck by you when you were struggling jobwise. She definitely needs to go no contact with Ethan he's toxic. 100% no contact he might try to guilt trip her into giving him a second chance like can we still be friends. Also, as for the kissing thing, ask your friend who witnessed it if it was Ethan being aggressive or if it was reciprocated because their is a difference. One could mean she was into him the other could mean she didn't tell you because she didn't wanna make you think she was cheating. During those 5 days, was she always over at Ethans, or did she go to other places like her parents' home or friends. Her not contacting you was messed up. I'll admit I'd be pissed too. Truthfully, if you give her another chance, tell her she's on a short leash. She needs to tell you all her media passwords, no locked phone or laptop. No, going out with girlfriends unless its confirmed by them or their husbands they are meeting up. Can't stay out later than her other friends. No unknown 'guy' friends buying her drinks or touching period, she 100% needs to tell them no. If she agrees, give her a chance if she doesn't kick her to the curb. If she can keep herself clean, you can decide when to lengthen the leash.

Yeah nah, i think the part that was the absolute most telling ,is the part where he was almost quite literally killed by Ethan and she decided to ONLY show concern for Ethan, not OP, Ethan. There's no fixing to be had for what's not there, history doesn't really matter at that point either when it is very clear who she prioritized, and you can bet if she prioritizes Ethan she is sleeping with him aswell. She's trying to make excuses and portray her actions as stupid instead of willfully decietfull, because at least with one of those there's innocence.

From experience I myself have been in her shoes, twice. I was weaker both times not sticking up for myself and allowing it to happen. I did try a couple of times it worked but they were stronger. When someone is like Ethan who is very aggressive and in a way didn't take no for a answer was delusional in thinking other wise she was playing hard to get. Which wasn't the case. It was hard for her cause she felt conflicted between you two in she didn't want to cause any problems with your friendships and she tried to fix the problem. He threatened her which they do, he wanted to make her his and his alone. He isn't going to stop, the letter was a big red flag, if she goes missing that's were you send police. Just saying

OP is afraid that Ethan would then press charges against the 2 friends. What gets me is he was afraid because they broke Ethan's nose and gave him a concussion ... and downplays that HE had his elbow FRACTURED! That's broken! Affecting one worse than a broken nose! Plus his ribs, which can be very painful! Unless the judges are really bad, Trying to stomp on someone's head is Attempted MURDER! SMDH
