It's kinda good and bad. I go into it in the next few eps or so, but it really seems like they let this arc go on a little too long. For example the Iruka flashback with the 3rd hokage was in last opening, but it doesn't happen until like ep 80 or 81. It seems like they ran into some production issues or something that messed up their schedule for the pacing of the show. But if they had to choose an episode this arc to show the new op, this one is hype as any other!

The Manga author, Kishimoto, had always wanted to make a series with Kaiju/big monster battles, but also really enjoyed traditional japanese lore, and ninjas. So he kind of just combined them

It’s worthwhile to note that anyone with enough chakra and skill with the transformation jutsu could do that dual transformation with chief toad. The actual transformation had nothing to do with naruto having the nine tails inside of him

He thought he used all his chakra, but that was all blue chakra i think. I think that was just denoting naruto's instinctively transforming to nine tails. Basically, serious Naruto can pull off all of this without nine tails.

In my opinion, this is the single greatest episode of Naruto part 1(aside from 133) - It's action from almost start to finish, with barely any flashbacks - Naruto grows as a person by learning from his past encounters - The 2K Uzumaki Barrage - The first tailed beast transformation, along with a kaiju fight - The iconic 4th opening - And Naruto transforms into the freaking Nine Tails! This episode goes hard!

The funny part is Sasuke telling Naruto to save Sakura while he buys time against Gaara. Meanwhile Naruto was fighting Gaara for 2 episodes now and Sasuke just stood there. Even now with the battle growing into this monster fight, Sasuke still just stands around not saving Sakura.

Guy8288 He was paralyzed by the curse mark AFTER exhausting his chakra. Unlike Naruto who has the nine tails chakra to rely on after exhausting his own chakra. Sasuke gets the opposite he gets paralyzed by the curse mark.

Sasuke has seen Naruto fight and knows Naruto is stronger than most would believe..:he even tells Naruto during the exams that he wants to fight Naruto seriously as he recognizes his strength. But what Naruto does against Gaara in this fight is power far beyond that most Jonin are incapable of. These are Kage level feats and Naruto did this with his own chakra. Creating 2000 shadow clones is supposed to be impossible, esp for a Genin

This fight kind of frustrates me. For one it's a hokage level fight that nobody knows about in the grand scheme. Second this should have been Naruto's Trump card in every fight. Naruto should be summoning in every fight he's in.

I’m going to be honest, for the most part I really don’t like Naruto’s individual fights not including Sasuke, but this fight is one of the only 2 ones that I really like and another one in shippuden. Really wasn’t a big fan of basically any fights that Naruto had in part 1 at this point including naruto vs neji which is one of my least favorite fights in the series. I would say naruto vs haku is good but that is more of a moment than a actual fight to me.

Dude was literally just getting up after his body crashed with the ground and was NOT PUTTING ANY DEFENSE to Naruto's final hit. And, even if it was just one punch, I don't think Neji's stamina can get more than two hits of the Nine tails. * About Neji letting Naruto charge his chakra: remember the concept of "anime time". In the manga it was probably a second, while in the anime they had to make it seem like it wasn't. And, remember this: for Neji it wasn't just about winning a fight, but to make sure he proved his point about a failure always being a failure. Naruto giving a shit about 64 palms jutsu and then charging a chakra TONS OF TIMES MORE POWERFUL than his original, just shocked Neji to the point he was wondering if THAT WAS EVEN CHAKRA.

Naruto doesn't even that many individual fights. There's basically 3-4 fights, against Neji, Gaara, Sasuke and Pa**. So you basically don't like Neji Fight. Kiba fight was a joke not a fight. So what's the expression "for the most part you don't like ANY individual fight" ??
