I had a co-worker that told me her daughter was cleaning out her closets getting ready to have a yard sale. It turns out that it was all a pre-text so that when her husband went on a business trip she was going to pack all her stuff up and be gone when he got back. My co-worker thought it was horrible that her daughter would just duck out without trying to talk things out first. It told her I was with her daughter. I'd do the exact same thing. When things are over there is no point in discussing, better to cut everyone's losses and just move on with as little drama as possible. It amazes me how many times family and friends in these stories try to get people to settle for someone who's been cheating on them. Are there really so many people cheating in relationships today that no one thinks it's possible to find someone who wouldn't? Better to be alone than spend the rest of your life with the constant resentments, the feelings of betrayal, and lack of respect and trust.
