A really cool thing about the dates is how it shows Cloud's reaction and how he feels about each party member. It's really sweet when you watch the way he keeps looking at Tifa in awe while she's watching the holograms and fireworks. Kinda how he used to look her way a lot when they were kids in nibelheim from the water tower to her room and such. Their dynamic has been so sweet and adorable this game! 🥰

The name of the musical track during that scene in the OG is called something like Drowned Out by Fireworks or something close to that but anyway I think the idea is that she said it in the OG but the booms from the fireworks kept it from being heard and then she didn't have the courage to say it again in the light of day when they were off the ride.

I'm commenting again because while watching the scene again I noticed that while Tifa is looking out the window Cloud is just staring at her until their eyes meet when she turns her head back toward him; at another portion you can see his eyes dance around like he's thinking of what he wants to say but can't say it out loud. It's pretty easy to notice but I only really paid attention to it today observing the facial and body animations they do in this game it's so well done

@@BuddyChy Yeah, Cloud has always had a huge crush on Tifa. His whole story arc begins because of it. He was an awkward kid, and didn't like that the other kids would hang around Tifa, so he never spent much time with Tifa when they were kids. So he left to join Shinra, and be a SOLDIER so that he could be a big hero and be worthy of Tifa's time entirely on his own. And before the events of the game, where Cloud's brain is scrambled, that's effectively the last we see of "real Cloud" (which not so coincidentally is what Aerith asks of Cloud, to see the "real Cloud") a little boy, trying to impress a girl. We'll see if we see much more of this in part 3.

Not sure if you found out already but if you make Vincent wait at the costa del sol dock too long, or log off and come back, he moves to the shaded area. Poor baby needs sunscreen. Also-- you have to first search all of the areas BEFORE you find Dio if you want to see the other characters (ie Vincent) and get the bit of dialogue/interaction. Once you find Dio, all of that is locked out.

the song is for zack. she learns quite a lot from zack like charging cloud a date as her bodyguard which zack did it first for her when they first met. she thought zack might have many girlfriends because he is charming, strong, skilled and first class in the most powerful company in midgar but zack only thought of her and never look at other women anymore after meeting and dating her. at the end she and zack reunites like in advent children show us at the end of the movie. aerith will always be with zack. and tifa with cloud.

What’s so special about FF7, especially this remake trilogy (so far) is that regardless of what your version of Cloud chooses, both Tifa and Aerith selflessly love him, and that can be platonic love or romantic love, again your play-through, your choice. But they continue to help and support Cloud even if they aren’t the one on the date(s). But I am so glad that they highlighted what good friends the two are (Tifa and Aerith) I typically go Tifa myself given How things play out in the original, but Clouds’s relationship with either is so well done I can easily see him with either. As boring as giving me a this or that option and me choosing both, this is about the only IP in which I genuinely feel that way. Love this game so much, just beat it yesterday and I can’t stop thinking about the game as a whole. Enjoy the rest of your playthrough and all others after!

Everyone has their favorite characters. But for me it just makes sense that Cloud and Tifa would get together when you consider the entire story. They have known each other since kids. And Aerith has always been Zack's girl. Although she is torn about how she feels about Cloud. I think in the OG that Tifa sensed that there was something there with Aerith and just held back because she had her own baggage to work through, and I get the feeling that even though she knows she likes Cloud but can't tell how Cloud feels about her. And a woman is not going to risk rejection. So she just lets things play out. With all the characters bonding through the journey, Tifa's logic is I like both of them, and I don't want to hurt either of them. It goes in line with her people pleasing behavior. Which is unhealthy, so never do it.

Honestly, all these crazy shippers all around social media have been pushing too hard for their cause lately and they've started to lose sight of the point. I've played FF7 since 97, then I've done multiple playthroughs of Remake in recent years and I think I can say without a doubt that I've dated Tifa just as many times as Aerith. From my point of view, I'd say Aerith's date makes for a slightly better story narratively speaking, because of all the drama, but the truth is both relationships make total sense. Aerith has the kind of bubbly personality that completes perfectly gloomy and solitary character traits like the ones shown by Cloud (especially when said bubbliness is a facade that hides some profound sadness). On the other hand, Tifa and Cloud are each other's anchor in life. They've known one another for all their lives, to the point they don't even realize they were never that close growing up. They totally should end up together at some point but, to be perfectly honest, Tifa isn't a great match up for Cloud at that point of the story. She only becomes one in Cd2 in the OG... but if people prefer her character, you can say she's still a pretty solid and logical choice, so their relationship can still work even on disc 1. Aerith and Tifa both play a major role in Cloud's development. Aerith is the one that helps Cloud reconnect with his humanity after five years bathed in a tank full of dead people memory. The first time he genuinly laughs in OG is when they escape from the rooftops and the first time he becomes proactive instead of going through the motion is when he chooses to release her from Shinra building. Tifa is the one that helps Cloud remember who he really is later on. He becomes whole only because of her support. Is that really that hard to believe he can have genuine feelings for both of these girls ? 😅

That leaves one and only one person the only one that he's made it to 1st base with in rebirth and a home run in the OG "under the highwind" in disc 3.

Well, Aerith said in OG (and in Rebirth since it's basically the same dialogue) she got attracted or at least interested in Cloud at first because he reminded her of her first love, which is kinda logical since he's based most of his demeanor on Zack's movements and fighting style with a little bit of Sephiroth added in the mix. But she never said she didn't get attracted to Cloud after spending some time with him, quite the contrary in fact... The problem is when people want one ship or the other to be "the canon one" because there is supposedly more feelings shown here or there. That's just not the case and the game tries very hard to make you feel things are more complicated than just that between all these characters. Tifa herself says things are more complex for Aerith than the simple "oh yeah, her character belongs with Zack" some want to believe in. If anything, devs are depicting Tifa and Cloud's relationship as being more physical because both characters need a physical connection to express their affection despite the lack of psychological comprehension they share at that point. There is not any serious proof one of the ships shows more attachment or affection than the other to be honest. That's just conjectures on people's part. But then again, if people want to believe Cloud belongs with Tifa, that works fine and the scene is really cute so that's no big deal. Saying its necessarily canon is the problem.

In story, the sky wheel doesn’t actually happen so none of them will be referenced straight up. It’s meant to be a fun event for the player to see Cloud and a party member of their choice interact and have a nice time and get a look into his relationship with them. That’s why they’re all so unique and well thought out so that no matter who you get it's enjoyable to watch for everyone. Thats also why there's no "default" or "canon" date. The devs have talked about it a bunch now so i'd recommend checking out their explanations for stuff they can explain more clearly

I'm not really sure what to make of the kissing scene. Is it considered canon or not, because in my playthrough that didn't happen. Apparently you need to have the bond level maxed out for it to become a "intimate date". And it can play out differently depending on who you have the deepest bond with, so it's like a players choice thing. What's interesting though is that in the intimate date with Aerith, they don't kiss. So does that put an end to the whole shipping debate between Aerith and Tifa? I'll just be straight forward... To me it was never a debate because Aerith loves Zack and Aerith dies... The real relationship was always Cloud and Tifa. Now I guess you can argue the nature of Cloud and Tifa's relationship, as far as I know that has always been left open for each person's interpretation... I didn't want to be be spoiled completely but I did a little bit of research and watched the beginning of Advent Children(only the beginning), which is a sequel to FF7 that takes place 2 years later. This is canon and even there it looks like Cloud and Tifa still have a strange relationship where they seem to be part friends and part romance. They have 2 "adopted" kids Marlene and another boy. When it starts Cloud is living on his own in the church because he's hiding that he has some disease that broke out after the world collapsed... Maybe part 3 of the Remake will change all that but who knows. Based on how Rebirth ended, I feel like part 3 is going to be pretty crazy.

I suggest that if you ever have the time to play the OG so you can understand why Cloud and Tifa share that close bond. And then watch Advant Children because there is a reason why Cloud is depressed he has survivals guilt. In the OG there is nothing ambiguous once you beat the game its pretty obvious what they feel for eachother. And after AC they are still by eachothers side. Part 3 will show the crux of Cloud and Tifa's relationship.

Don't look too deep into the ending in regards to Cloud and Tifa. That part of the story is where they are at their lowest points emotionally, Cloud feels like he failed to save Aerith from death and Tifa lost another very close friend especially since you see how down she was about Jessie. Also sephiroth has a firm hold on cloud's mind at the end of rebirth. Once he gets lost to the lifestream in the north crater and gets his self restored in Mideel it will make more sense. That's where Cloud and Tifa should get there resolution to their story arc

Tho I prefer Cloud with Tifa, I dont agree with the whole "Aerith trying to get over her ex by using Cloud". A statement like that only serves to diminishes the actual relationship Aerith built with Cloud. Yes, she did see some trait of Zack in Cloud but never have I thought she was interested in Cloud because he has some trait of Zack. She even say that in the game. Not exactly word for word😂😂 but you can get my point.

I don't understand the contention. You can romatically love more than 1 person at the same time: Tifa said Aerith's feelings for Zack and Cloud are complicated. The story makes good on Cloud's relationships with both Aerith and Tifa, its just OG Tifa didn't get a canon lead role til after Aerith died. Cloud and Aerith have messy complicated feelings for each other regardless of the path (Tifa alludes to it here) and she dies before she can meet the "real" Cloud. Its ambiguous if Clouds initial attraction is due to Zack's memories, but that doesn't invalidate A/C's interactions as genuine I'm firmly of the opinion that Cloud loves both of them romantically, but in very different ways. His feelings for Tifa don't blossom until after Aerith dies in the OG, and the complicated Zack factor + sudden death prevented A/C from making it to first base. At the same time, the compilation material (including the books) are clear that Cloud had feelings for Aerith and his relationship with Tifa in ACC is... complicated. Tifa has a romaticized view of Cloud and often fantasizes about him as a husband/father, while Cloud can't answer Tifa when she asks "Do you love me?" His unresolved feelings, survivor's guilt, and PTSD take up most of his headspace, he drinks to cope, and T/C sleep in seperate rooms. ACC was about Cloud seeking forgiveness for Aerith's death, maybe once he forgave himself he finally rekindled his relationship with Tifa

I'd say it's just player's choice, right now the canon or default choice is Aerith's date (the skywheel angle from the completed chapter trophy icon is only present in Aerith's date, and only Aerith is shown as princess Rosa in the credits), but the developers said multiple times you can choose whoever you want and all are valid choices, even Cait Sith's one, or Yuffie's.

Honestly it’s like anytime a Tifa thumbnail is posted the Aerith sycophants come out with pitch forks, and I like Aerith imo the 2nd most important character in FF7, but if we’re talking about love, objectively it’s Tifa all the way she was the one who mended Cloud’s distorted psyche, she was the one who stayed by his side in his time of need, when the world was coming to an end she wanted to spend it with Cloud, Cloud same thing being a SOLDIER, putting himself in harms way as a kid on the collapsing bridge, being ashamed that he didn’t live up to that SOLDIER standard it was all for Tifa, what more proof is needed
