A couple details. 1. To compare it to a Tacoma seems unfair, price point is $25k vs a lot more for the truck. Yes the GRC costs more than $25k, but it's the same sound system as a regular Corolla Hatchback. 2. The JBL sound system does have an amplifier, it is under the seat. Otherwise great video dude. I still can't believe this makes a difference, but if everyone says it works, I think I gotta get one of my own.

I completely understand that they are not a great comparison. But in other generations of corollas, the JBL system came with a better amplifier and a subwoofer. It’s like Toyota really went cheap on this new generation! I actually did not know there was an amp under the seat, I appreciate you for letting me know! I watched many others put this in there GR and they all said it made a pretty good improvement, and I would agree with all of them! A great upgrade for the audio!

@@BrandonStellmach oh I agree, the system isn't good even for a regular Corolla. It's disappointing for sure. I have a sub in mine but this upgrade would still be appreciated.

Could you provide what % of maximum you have each Gain knob to? Any power or audio issues at higher gain?

I have had it set to about 75% with no issues so far with the speakers or quality of the sound.

@@BrandonStellmach I'll have to play with mine as I still have mine set at 50% and that made a difference. Beat Sonic had a booth at Toyotafest when I was there in June and I bought the subwoofer harness that plugs right into the same area behind the screen. It needs a sub just to take the stress off the speakers.

@@BrandonStellmach Yep, it allows you to hook in a line level adapter that the subwoofer wires into and prevents any cutting or tapping into the stock wires.
