A sad day as I explore my grandparent's forgotten & abandoned house. My mother said they hid money under the house in Mason jars. An abandoned family home

Thank you for the kind words. I shared this story because I wanted people to know how some of these homes became abandoned. I know they all have different stories but a lot are similar in many ways. Stay safe and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!💜

Thank you. I only got my grandpa's welding glasses. We live in another state, so we weren't able to take much. However, I did find a couple dog tags dated 1976 on the front porch. I got them for me and my sister. Maybe next time, we can get more. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours

Saddens my heart but I live in a different state so I am too far away to go there often. I had no idea it was in such disrepair. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and see ya next video

Those Keds high-tops on the right at 8:02, those washed out and cleaned could be such good kicks. It stinks that's what happens when people pass away, stuff rots and caves in, gets forgotten till it's all but dust.

A great big HELLO to you in Ireland, where I hope to visit one day. I loved hearing my grandpa's stories of his family from your homeland. He would tell me stories of his father whose boat docked in New York when he first came to this country. He used black shoe polish on his hair thinking he could fit in. My grandpa would ask me, "Can you image how a 7' redheaded Irishman most have looked walking down the streets of New York with black shoe polish in his hair"? and then he would chuckle. I miss those stories and now wish I would have sit longer to hear more. Today, I wouldn't be able to hear enough of them. Thanks for watching, Wishing you and yours a Very Merry Christmas.

Ome! I'll come at you different than the others! I am upset at the whole family for letting this home go to waste. Even now I would be gathering materials to rebuild it in memory of my loved ones. Yes, it would be costly, but, I would have it to do.

Thank you for the kind words. The family has gave up fighting her. We've offered her money for the place, but she refuses to sell it to any of our family. Lawyers say it is legally hers. Our battles are a lost. She is leaving the property to her sister when she dies.

when family members can't see eye to eye and one is an addict, bad things come out of it. My family's story was like that and it was heartbreaking what happened.

Nobody wanted my grandmother's house. She had been saving her money and has up to two thousand dollars hidden in her house. Nobody ever found it and years later my uncle admitted to getting it. He was a uncle I liked because I used to go allover with him. He was in the Navy and also a air traffic controller. I was only 12 and sertainly not a threat so he took me on the base and bought me a soda.

My sister and I tried that but we couldn't get a big enough one. However, I did find two dog tags dated 1976 on their front porch. They belonged to my grandfather. My sister and I made necklaces out of them. We love them. Thanks for you suggestion and for watching the video. Stay safe, best wishes

lt would be interesting to hear your aunt's explanation as to why she would insist upon taking ownership of the house only to let it fall into disrepair. Her selfish, uncaring actions are typical of someone who's a narcissist. Everything's about them and what they want.
@PrettyTattered
@PrettyTattered 2 жыл бұрын
You nailed it. She makes things up, lies about everything and if you catch her in one, she becomes very weak and ill. It's, "oh poor me and everyone is so mean to me". So yes, a narcissist.

Why is this house destroyed inside, Were people off the street, Going in, If so why was it not locked up Tight. I just don,t get it, People would be in jail, who ever destroyed the home. So SAD
@PrettyTattered
@PrettyTattered 2 жыл бұрын
She claims she had it locked but the back door was not. She claims people were crawling under the house to get in but I never seen evidence someone had came up from under the floor. Maybe some were crawling under the house looking for hidden money under the floor. That could be how in some rooms the floors were caving in when there wasn't roof damage. None of it makes any sense. All I know for sure is I was devastated to find that house in that condition when she could have easily saved it. Like you said, all she had to do was tarp the roof until it could be fixed. She could have asked any of us grandchildren for help. Anything would have been better than to have just sit back and watch it rot to the ground. Wishing you and yours Happy Holidays!

She was told but after my uncle died of cancer, he left her the house. Now she has control. My mom and other uncle got tired of fighting her and gave over their rights to her. That was the real mistake. Now we have no rights to the place. Sad how things like this turn out.
