Gorman had a saying "you can pick the placebut the coyote will pick the time" so patients is a very important ingredient in trapping and your equipment has to be in working order oncethe coyote picks the time.

Here, in Alabama, we only get measurable snow about once every 10 years or so. We have to use other ways of patterning our coyotes.

I always say "Snow is the GREATEST teacher.... It will humble your a** in 2 seconds flat!" I like using beaver lure at my K9/cat sets too.... Try a mink gland lure at a flat set :)

Interesting comment regarding your competitiveness. I’m an old retired teacher and coach. I remember when I got to a place where the losses hurt a whole lot more than the wins felt good. I loved practice but game nights became drudgery. It sounds a little like what you’re dealing with on the trapline. Don’t get lost in the goals and numbers and forget to enjoy the experience and privilege to be out there! I thoroughly enjoy your channel and I’ve learned a lot from you. Keep up the good work! We as trappers have to support each other and learn from one another. Jinx have you seen the coyote, raccoon, skunks and opossums have an extended trapping season in Missouri this year? It runs until April 14th. Bobcats and foxes still end on Feb 29th. I am excited about being able to trap near the turkey hatch and fawn birthing in our state. I also can't wait until the ground is not frozen!! -5 degrees here today in Lebanon, Mo
