Some parts on this map are very rough on attack. It's very vertical, which is kinda good for Groot, because a lot less space, more potential for walls, but if someone takes a high spot on roofs or windows, it's really rough. Namor and Moon Knight players will have time of their life on this map. Also good to see you climbing into higher ranks. Day 1 ranked was a warzone and as a humble Diamond player, i made a decision to wait a week or so.

Great content mate, learned a lot! One great combo I wanna point out (and I personally always do as Groot) is the last ult usage you have done in this match. Most people are thinking Groot ult is only to capture the enemy and needs to be chained by a moon knight or namor ult to be effective. That's totally wrong. Place the walls directly behind the enemy, then ult on those walls and right click. The enemy will get pulled to the walls and in combination with left click plus the wall damage it generates a huge amount of damage, mostly insta kill or wipes if done correctly as you did. Great job!

@@storm_king29 yeah with wolverine it’s super hard because he hard counters groot :/ playing close to your team and making him waste his passive is a good way to start against him, I also like to wall myself up whenever he drags me away from my team. The only times I won’t play groot is if a wolverine is shredding me and I know there’s nothing I can do about the matchup, or if someone asks nicely really

Hey bro, when should I use Ironwood defensively for the shield gen and when should I use it offensively/to block angles? Find myself only using it as a pocket shield like Peni Nest

Great question, i like to hide my Ironwood wall if the fight is longer range, say 15-20 meters? that way i still get value from it without having to over push. Then when we are getting closer to a brawl, ill bring the wall back since its on a shortish cooldown and have it ready in case i can trap someone. So long range fights is where i personally like to use it defensively or if i really need to back up from taking to much damage, other than that its all about blocking line of sight for the enemies really

yo, didn't realise this but your big wall gains shield for you, so i mostly hide it from enemies and use it to stay alive

yeah it gives you shield but you lose alot of value from the big wall by keeping it hidden, it can still heal you while close in the battle

alot of people get stuck in rhythm of placing their healing wall in a spot no1 will shoot for the extra heal but you should focus on learning when and where to use it during a fight its health makes for some easy kills thanks to trapping them away from their team. Another tip would be focus peeling for your team with your walls to annoy the enemy divers or tanks

Hiding your wall is great for the extra HP, but you lose a lot of Groot's aggressive potential. The wall makes it much easier to secure kills while also blocking enemies. So personally I don't think its worth to hide

@@brodyno soooo wolverine is like the only hero in the game that Hard counters groot, I actually played against Healis(number 1 on the leaderboard at the time) and it felt impossible, my advice would be to try wall yourself up when you are being dragged away from your team, if you do it right you can jump on your wall and he can’t hit you unless he dashes up to you, another tip would be to stay as close to your team as possible. I know those are pretty generic tips but he’s the only hero I’ll switch against tbh

Solo Tanking with Groot can be very hard on certain maps to be honest, but its all about playing patient and waiting for the enemies to make a mistake if your dps aren't performing. So start the game patient and read the way your enemies like to play and go from there. Thats all i can really say for now 🤔

In my opinion you are under utilizing or misusing your ironwood wall ability. You barely use it and when you do its to wall off someone. And while it can be used like that or just defensively to great effect in some situations, it's also just a source of free extra health/regen if you just place it in an out of the way spot close to the action and keep repositioning it as you push.

Groot loses a lot of his value when you hide the ironwood wall because it’s a major part of the way he wins fights, I’d much rather have something I can run around for cover which has 700hp than give myself an extra 250 while pushing point. I can see it being more useful in that sense if you have poor positioning and need the extra hp to make up for that, but then you just lose an important part of groots kit that confirms kills Placing your wall away also makes how you play very predictable and just less scary since the thornlash walls have such little hp

@@nesmonTV Yeah that's fair but the it's not just 250 extra hp, it's 250 hp which regenerates as long as enemies are taking damage nearby. You're essentially healing yourself and that's very strong. But I am playing in much lower lobbies so maybe when you can really depend on your supports in higher lobbies it makes sense to use it like you do. But at my rank it feels a lot more impactful to use it as a shield generator.
