Man you really need to do a “how I play Pantera” series and use one appropriate guitar/setup and go through the riffs for it. I feel that sometimes I might play the wrong thing, and sometimes you play it differently than Dimebag (or again, I might just be wrong). Think it would make for a nice simple series. No need to go all “teach someone that just picked up a guitar”. Just “I do this and that”, play slow once, play full awesome once.

I love it. The idea of using your favorite players signature finish on your own guitar shape is pretty awesome. Dime did it too! He had at least one ML/Washburn finished in Van Halen stripped red. I always wanted to find/design my own guitar and put some lightning on it in tribute. Also, Dime would've been thrilled to see his influence over the KZbin guitar age!

Mein Gott I adore every millimetre of that V cut. I got a very fussy eye for V's being right and man... THAT IS RIGHT. The thiskness of the body, the cut and contour... I absolutely love it. I always just wear a strap when playing my V’s sitting. You can tighten it up a bit so it adds that support you need. You’re the man ola!

Cheers Ola on the stretching. Restring tutorials don’t show stretching as much as you just did. It’s a big help. Can you do a limited run of these for Solar and maybe give one away. Sounds awesome.

My first guitar was an Aria Pro flying V. It had an EMG 81 in the bridge and no front pickup. It was the most uncomfortable guitar to play sitting but it weighed nothing and sounded fantastic so I just stood up to play it all the time. Honestly it taught me how to play standing up. Also that is the most amazing flying V I have ever seen and it's not just because I am impartial to Dime.

Ola that Dimebolt V is insane!!! I have a Razorback Explosion with one of the Dime amps the sound is pretty heavy just from od channel and dimebucker alone lol My Uncle Dean had a Jackson Rhoads V, the curvature was very hard to get used to. I would put the lower fork of the v body like under my knee to keep it in place... Awesome vid Ola! And of course, I love hearing some gear stories and good times, it keeps a positive aura around you and your instruments...

Love this series! It’s interesting seeing guitars from Ola’s past. I know he’s said he’s piece about doing Dime tributes in Solar, that he wants them to come from the Dime camp; but man I’d love a Dime finished Solar. That’d be killer. Specifically the Southern Cross as a V 🤘🏻

To play a V while sitting, utilize the classical guitar position. Sit with a foot stool on the left knee (right knee if you are a left-handed player). It stabilizes the instrument.

My first guitar was a V so it became natural for me to sit in the "classical" position with any guitar now. and to be honest I find It better for posture because it's a more natural upright position similar to if you were stood up playing. Also I find it easier to stretch for certain leads.

With any guitar that requires classical positioning of the instrument, I definitely recommend one of those foot stands that classical guitar players use. I first saw it when my college professor gave me tickets to the Beijing Guitar Duo. Since then, I’ve seen insane players like Jason Reeves Richardson use them just for the sake of being able to shred comfortably. I highly recommend purchasing one. Try it on the next FAQ, even though it’s more of a suggestion. 🦧🪕🥪
