oddly, my hair texture did the opposite. I was 4a two years ago and im 4c now. I think its because of how damaged my hair was, so the parts of my hair that were still healthy showed their "true texture". I cut all my hair off two weeks ago and im growing it back out so my hair will probably be fully 4c as it grows out.

Hey Tarik! Was hoping you could help me with something. About a year ago I started doing 4 big twists in sections because I wanted to stretch my hair overnight. I would put a durag on over it and go to sleep. When I woke up, the front of my hair went to about eye length and the back was pretty close to the neck. Essentially, it covered my entire cut and was like a hanging high taper. I want to say in June of last year, I noticed that my twists were getting shorter and my hair wasn't hanging as far down as before. Over the months, my twists have slowly gotten shorter each time and I'm not sure what's happening or if I did something wrong. I'm almost positive I'm not losing hair because I don't see any breakage or damage anywhere, and I've heard that tension can cause hair damage, but my length has been decreasing with my twists. My hair now still covers my forehead like bangs but isn't eye length. I have 4B hair and my mother was telling me all the new growth is in my roots and since my roots are so thick, it's pulling the hair up and not letting it hang, but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't make my twists shorter, right? It's been bothering me for a while and I hope someone can help
