Very small bit of extra info here on a few things, not much more to say in the coming episodes. Bjorn is an old norse type name that means "Bear". Sometimes it's written as Björn. The mushroom Bjorn ate was a fly agaric. There are no real way to tell if vikings actually ate fly agaric mushrooms to induce what people call "berserker rage", but it's been mentioned time and time again that it may have been the case. Of course, the mushroom itself is actually poisonous and apparently known have psychoactive and hallucinogenic properties, but I wouldn't personally suggest trying it. I imagine that Bjorn ate the mushroom and started hallucinating something and flew into a literal blind rage. Odin, the All-father, the norse god or war, death, wisdom and many others, is most likely the most known of all the Norse gods. Swearing to gods was taken very seriously. Not seeing through your oath that you swore on a god's name was seen as disrespectful and disgraceful. Thors swearing on Odin's name here is a big deal since these oaths are not something one should do lightly. "A true warrior doesn't need a sword" Is such a good line, you'll learn the meaning of it sooner or later.

Thorfinn's VA really captured the alarming rage inside Thorfinn and really signalled the turning point for his character & the story, because Thors had "complete character development" MC vibes.

He had. When you get to learn his backstory and the battles he was in and how he lived before Helga and his kids and how he changed or what he was searching for (his objective). Yeah, it was complete. His goals weren't but his character was. And Askeladd was also great. Again, backstory + development. Superb characters all in all.

Thors had no choice when it came to killing Askelad. Yes he despises killing but even if he killed him, the archers and the rest of the pirates would have killed everyone there the moment Askelad hit the ground.

Well in a sense. Vikings and also other warriors during those times really valued the importance of duel. Duels were an actual way to settle things especially if it was sworn in name of gods.

Hey, I want to warn you about few anime if some troll recommend them in comment ( don't watch this, it will live rent free in your head for rest of your life) High School DxD (yea...) , Made in Abyss (each episode is darker and darker) , Blood C (brutal af), When They Cry (didnt watch but friend did, ), The Promised Neverland (NO), Parasite. There are more but this comment will be way too long Few honorable mentions ( Really really great anime but bit dark and heavy at some point, but still worth watching I promise, some...) Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Ragna Crimson (emotional damage), Dark Gathering (ghost), Akame ga Kill(watch 1st ep and then do what you want), Hametsu no Oukoku (guy is nuts and want revange), Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? IV Part 2 (anime is great but this part is hard to watch at some point) GL & HF
