While on deployment in Iraq in 2004 some of my fellow soldiers and I participated in a gospel concert and sang this song. We were practicing one night and we heard some explosions and sirens and if I recall correctly were told to take cover in place and wait for the all clear before we went back to where we were staying. Our director suggested we keep singing and focus on God. By time we got the all the clear and the power came back, no one had dry eyes, we all felt safe and a peace that's hard to explain and it left me with a memory about the Lord that I will never forget. My best friends died the first Nov 18th, 2018 and then my closest friend, she died February 23rd, 2019, but my youngest son, died of cancer last year in March 2023.
