I can totally relate to this journey being an obsession as I’m at that point right now. I don’t think I’ll obtain bag peace until I score a Birkin. It’s great that you were able to turn down the first 2 offers and not sure if I would be brave enough to do that! But patience paid off!

This is so crazy to me! Here in San Francisco it’s impossible to get a quota bag, some people spend $40-50k and never get an offer. It’s almost cheaper and quicker to fly to NYC every couple of months and buy from there and get a bag there.

I was on a journey but stopped to buy recently. To be honest I was super frustrated and noticed that I was spending to much time, money and effort just to get a bag. I almost spent 1:1 in 1.5 years. I ended up buying one preloved and now I feel relived.

Thanks for sharing! honestly, pre-loved is a great option esp. because you get to actually choose the specs of the bag. I totally relate to the feeling of spending too much effort/time/money on shopping at H -- in retrospect i think i was very close to falling into an obsession (not in a good way) with it.

Loved your story. It’s nice seeing someone be so honest and genuine and forthcoming about their experience with the boutique. I will say you really lucked out as competition has been stiff and continues to remain stiff. But it’s not just about spend as many think. I have been a long time H client and have experienced some of what you talk about in the video. I love that you were patient and willing to wait and only buying things you love. Thanks for sharing! I love jewel tones and would be over the moon to have a Birkin in that gorgeous green! I too have a lot of bags in black so would not be interested in that color, however, I think I would have purchased it if offered! I’d love a Birkin one day, but also do not plan to purchase items that I’m not genuinely interested in. I’m going in soon to purchase a belt and hope to find a particular bracelet soon too.

I just started my journey (put in my wish today!) after already spending some online (I know it doesn’t count) and in store over the course of 6 months. I’m in it for the long game. Market is high now, but I’m hoping demand cools in the next 3 years or so to get my dream bag! I’ve been going too hard on the pre-loved market and starting the game now will definitely slow down my consumption and allow me to enjoy what I already have and what trickles in through the boutique. Any advice for someone only starting the game now?

Lucky you! I'm in Canada and we have to spend close to 1:1 or more to get a quota bag (1:0.9 for k28, 1:2.5 for b25, and at 1:1.3 currently)...I'm waiting for my 3rd quota bag now and have turned down a two offers already. In between my journey a few of my SAs left the company, and it was stressful to find a new SA...Anyway, I love how your videos are informative, keep it up! :) Thanks for sharing!

I love the color, you made a great choice. It would look so chic with what you are wearing in this video. All I would say is that you should get rid of the twillys. I think they ruin the look of the bag and the overall chicness of the vibe.

I’ve been trying the bag without twillys in the winter months (since I wear gloves so I don’t feel like I need to protect handles). I do agree that the look is more polished/elegant without them

I use GoodHangups, but had to supplement it with command strips to keep the magnets in place (the adhesive on the sticker it comes with is not strong enough)

I was hesitant at first too, but so far it's wearing really well, definitely keeps its structure and i feel more care-free since the leather is quite wipeable. That said i don't own anything in a soft leather from Hermes so I dont have anything to compare it to

Thank you! The color definitely has more green, and darker than etoupe (etoupe seems to have more of a beige undertone) -- i think most people can pick up on the green when they see it in person

I like FiDi mostly for the convenience of the location for me (it was easy for me to be flexible with my SA’s schedule and casually drop in). It is pretty small though, so if you want a better browsing experience, Madison is a better choice. Since my purchases were mostly planned, stock at that location wasn’t that much of a concern because my SA can always transfer things from another boutique.

Hi is the vert de gris more like dark grey with hint of green ? I went to Hermes looking for an Evelyne they had a vert jade which is very green then I saw this vert de gris color on line which looks great but I wonder how it looks in person

I would say so -- it's more grey than green (for styling purposes, more of a neutral than a color).

I think the whole "journey" is absolutely absurd. Great marketing tool as it sucks people in and makes them feel like they are getting something elusive but honestly if I am going to spend that kind of money then I would go pre-loved and get EXACTLY what I want. I totally respect anyone that does decide to go this route and if it makes it all the more meaningful then that's great for you but for me personally, it's a hard no.
