Just for the after service you get from Hermes actually makes the hefty price tags on their bags worth it. so you are fortunate to have inherited the bag from your mum. I have 3 hermes Fourre tout bags. Small, medium and large. and the small and medium look brand new. The large version is slightly faded and would love to see if Hermes can restore the colour . In total they all cost me less than £800, but compare to your which was a bargain.

The Spa really did a great job ! I wasn’t expecting it to look so great after the initial photo you showed. Definitely a timeless piece, although not the most easily « wearable » but the trend is back again to roomy bags, so you should be fine and you can definitely pass it on to your daughter or son (been seeing a lot of men wearing the birkin 30’ in a very stylish way). You must make an update after you get the story from your mom on how she came to own a Birkin! Did they give you options for personalization or recoloring? My B40 has gold initial stamps on the inside of the sangles so if the H spa wouldn’t do that now I’d know not to try to send it off. Would the H spa replace the sangles anyway?

I know they don’t recolour (if you mean changing the original colour of the bag) but I have no idea about personalisation sorry

Loooooove the bag!!! I love bags and my mother is the same, she does not take care of her bags. I stuff them when not in use to keep the shape and I put them in dust bags. $450 for an authentic Birkin…WOW! Love it😊

Hi - Hermes expert here. Your bag seems to be Togo leather (possibly clemence) so despite any support it would’ve slouched anyway as this is the nature and beauty of the leather. For structured Hermes leather Epsom is not only stiff but very light too! By the way, they have repainted the bag. You mentioned a few times “dusting off”. The inside (chevre leather) was also repainted from I can see. Enjoy your bag in good health it is my holy grail! I only own a 35!
