Couple notes: 1. Yeah, the blade guy wasn't literal when he called those other thugs his bros. As I recall, it's common in yakuza culture for younger members of the gang to address their seniors as their big bro/sis (though anyone familiar with the subject can correct me if I'm mistaken). 2. Speaking of mistakes, both the sub and dub versions of this ep messed up the name of Kirishima's ultimate move. They translated it as "Red Gun Turret" when it was supposed to be _Red Gauntlet_. I think they fix it in later episodes though, lol. Anyway, great reaction to a great episode, you two! 🙂

Fun fact, the drug displayed in this episode to make quirks stronger, Trigger, has a prominent role in the spinoff/prequel series MHA Vigilantes. The spinoff actually goes in depth on a few character backstories such as Stain, Aizawa and a few others.

A few fun facts: Fat Gum speaks in dialect, not standard Japanese, you can notice it in his tone and pronunciation. Also he didn't go to U.A. (I think he attended Shiketsu) The blades guy calls the other men he was with his "older brothers" but that does not mean they're related, Japan has a hierarchy culture and it's very linked with age and seniority so when you're very familiar and in a good relationship with someone older you'd call them as your older brother/sister, this is even more prominent in yakuza groups (basically Japanese criminal organisations, mafia-like) where everyone is "family" and talks and treats each other as such.

Tamaki Amajiki is such dope character that totally caught me by surprise. I didn't expect to like him as much as I do when he was first introduce. But he quick became a favorite. Plus, his hero name; Suneater is just so badass. Happy to see you guys adore him too.😊😊

Nejeri Hato uses her own life energy to power the energy beams she uses to fly and attack. That is why when she first meet class 1A she was at 90 miles an hour asking questions and bouncing off the walls. She has to be at 150% when relaxed or a fight would knock her out

This is a really minor detail and one that always perplexes me, but I believe his special move here is supposed to be called “Red Gauntlet” instead of “Gun Turret” I believe they fixed it on the blu ray. So weird.

They fixed it later, that's because the pronunciation and katakana writing for both of them is the same "redo guntoretto" could be either "red gun turret" or "red gauntlet" and they just so happened to use the wrong one.

The League of Villain got plenty of media attention from their attack on U.A (end of S1) plus the Nomus attack on Hosu city (S2). That 2nd one was overshadowed by Stain, but the press believed he was associated to the League too. That's what attracted all these high profile Villains to them for the attack on the camp (S3). So when Overhaul says he wants their name recognition, he doesn't mean from the public, but to garner support among Villains. He said he's a small time Yakuza, so people won't lend him the resources he needs for his plans.
