I think you have maybe solved the problem of the endless upgrade bug. Buy a bunch of components so that you can switch in/out and mix and match different components whenever you get bored.

Not really a challenge. Speakers are set. DAC is set. The amp is going nowhere (just like the pass that’s been here two years now). The only change might be a luxman phono pre but that may not be able to be done in 2023. I’ll have reviews or other amps in but they will not be my own. Have a Michi X3 arriving today for review, it that has to be sent back. The system as you see it here is mine, not review units that come and go. I also have a few other DACs, speakers and amps that I own but they do not sound as good as what’s in now. Therefore, this will be my reference set for 2023. Thanks and have a great day.

@@HiFiHuff you could have bought a pair of active ATC SCM ASL reference studio monitors, for less than you have spent on your overpriced passive system, and gained more sound performance benefits in the process, that you just cannot get with any passive audio system.

Fantastic setup. Really interesting speakers... I've actually never heard of them until just now (which is odd, because I've been into audio for nearly 40 years! ). Lux and Pass are among my faves, too. Nice to have the options of owning multiple amps (I do the same, but on a much less costly level). Great vid! (and I love the dedicated room you've made as an extension of your house).

I listened to the LUXMAN L-595A Limited in Rosewood here in Tokyo the other day - a model available only in Japan. The rosewood finish is stunning, definitely an upgrade on the standard silver/black.

Nice! 🙂 As a 'tube-head' myself i can whole hartedly recommend the Emission Labs 300b tubes. Maybe even better then the WE's, according to some fans. I agree lol. Best wishes for the season and wishing for a peaceful&healthy 2023.

How does Luxman L 550AXII (class A) compared to L 595A?

You should try oyaide pure silver cables from shopping Japan. Voodo silver cables are also great specially ethernet

Thats a lovely looking set up. Honestly with turntables, direct drive turntables are so much better than any belt drive,be it vintage or new. The Pioneer PL -X1000 is tremendous.

He had a SL-1200G in that he really liked, but just wasn't a fan of the looks. It's a pity since the 1200G is a better table (specs as well) than the Luxman PD-151

In your opinion DD is better than belt drive. This isn't the case though. There are great versions of each type.

Red Dawn is great cable...but, I find moving up in the Nordost line pays dividends. I recall you've had some of their pricier offerings in the past, but now all your gear is different. It's worth a try.

@@101DV as someone who was in the healthcare business for close to 40 years I can assure you that healthcare in the USA is on average 2X more expensive then other industrialized countries and our quality based on scientific measures is not up to par.......we pay 2X as much and don't get the quality.
