Hi Friends! I am so glad you are here! Thanks for following along on my Christmas Day and New Year's Eve adventures here in Taiwan. Hi Kristi, -- My wife and I moved to Taiwan when we were 22yrs old...enjoying watching all your Taiwan "firsts". Bringing back a lot of memories. We worked with a church in Taipei for 16 years, and have spend the last 10 in Taichung. Our three kids were all born and raised here and are now venturing out on their own as well. My oldest is 24 and preparing to move to Tokyo. If you and your friends ever need a home cooked meal and want to visit Taichung...Welcome! This was our first Christmas without our kids. : (

Just want to let you know we all love you here in Taiwan. I think it’s part of the progress for growing up independently. I myself have been 9 times away from my mom during Lunar New Year holiday, which is the most important family gathering time in a year. 房間的異味除了潮濕的霉味 還有浴室和廚房裡地板上的排水孔有排水溝的沼氣味道,改善的方式是將地板落水頭改成防臭落水頭,或著平常用塑膠墊蓋著也可以減少房間內的異味！

For the smell, get dehumidifier. Also watch what neighbors cook and sometimes they smell funny and the scent gets into your apartment. I always keep my balcony closed. And yeah, take trash out daily.. That could be the main problem.

Christmas is just not the same in Taiwan as home. It doesn’t have the spirit and the atmosphere. It’s just a normal day for most Taiwanese. You did your best Kristi but being away from family at Christmas is hard. On a positive note you will get that Spirit and atmosphere when Lunar New Year arrives. That’s Taiwan’s Christmas. Thanks for another great video.

In winter, I recommend going to the southwest or south of Taiwan. The weather is usually better. The north and east are often cloudy and rainy😆😆

I hope you enjoyed your holidays Kristi! This Christmas holiday just gone was the hardest Christmas season I've ever experienced because it was the first since my dad passed away. Luckily, like yourself, I spent it with friends in the UK even when I'm away from my family in Taiwan, so it was quite nice.

You probably need a dehumidifier. The smell would be from the moldiness from the rainy days. You need a good dehumidifier in Taipei especially if you're staying in an older apartment. Then the air freshener can be an additional to help on top.

there's Chinese New Year incoming, hope you have a really cool CNY experience 🎉🎉 in 2022 As for the natural sceneries, you should really go to Eastern TW, Yi Lan, Huan Lien, or Tai Tong where natural sites and national parks in these counties are worthy going places Or you should go outer Islands, like, Orchid Island, or Green Island, or Pescadores Island, Kinmen, or Matsu
