Correct Bro, I said the opposite, yes it should be white, cricketers wear white dress 🤔, your tank is stainless steel now, it will absorb more heat also., may be you could paint the sides of the tank black for looks and top in white color.main reason for painting solar frame in black is to protect from stealing, when you paint the solar frame in black it will look like part of roof rack instead of looking separate.
