I built one of the el cheapo calls shown on a different video and it sucks. I think your amplifier would do a much better job and I like the cooler idea. Maybe I'll have to modify mine a bit because the one that uses the mini amplifier from Radio Shack sucks.

I've only brought 1 in so far. Not sure how far out he was when he came in. I saw him at about 600 yards and I dunno if he smelled us or what but he never got curious enough to come in any closer :(

Hmmmmmm...... been considering this myself using an old Minaska remote caller but was looking at hard cases. I definitely like this idea much more.

I used to Vox walkie talkies with a old dewalt radio with auxiliary input. Plug cell phone in other side and can transmit signal to radio.Walkie talkies are rated for eighteen miles line of sight.Bam!

are u still happy with this setup? any changes from what you originally posted?
@kellytrosper20209 жыл бұрын
Yep, battery seems to last forever. So far so good. It's stupid loud. A ranger told me he was upwind and could hear it for well over a mile. He was kinda thinkin maybe it was too loud. I guess the key will be seein them as they approach and then dialing back the vol. I dunno, still learning the tricks of the trade.

Nice idea! One question - did you use a voltage regulator between the battery and the power leads on the board?
@kellytrosper202010 жыл бұрын
Nope, been using it for a while with no issues. I wonder if one is built into the amp?
@Shakerbuilt9 жыл бұрын
I just built this same set up myself. My volume doesn't blow me away though. Figured since the speaker is 8ohm its only doing 10w but if you run it 4ohm its 15 watt. I got some cheap mp3 player but its just not loud. any suggestions?

were you using the same 12v battery as him? wanting to build this myself but i want to make sure i order all the right components.
