If they are selling a product that you're fearful to employ, then your best bet is to run away. Save that money for the emergency when it happens, and spend some to prevent accidents immediately, such as having large dying trees cut down, replacing electrical wiring at the first sign of issues, things like that. Keep a fire extinguisher in every room, make sure your grade doesn't allow for flooding, install a metal roof. This is called taking care of yourself. Depending on strangers is a horrible plan, especially when they have the mafia in their pockets. I'm dropping at the next renewal and not looking back. No one can afford a 30% annual increase, which is what all insurance and taxation scammers seem to use as their standard bump. The ultimate goal is to fully divorce myself from the dollar, which is dying rapidly.

Here's another tip: If you switch insurance companies and have a mortgage, try to have the new policy start on your renewal date. Mortgage companies typically pay for the full year and don't like paying twice for insurance. If you cancel before the renewal date, the policyholder will receive a pro-rated refund directly. Since the mortgage company made the full payment, you'll need to send that refund back as an escrow-only payment. Don't cash the check and use it for personal use.

I have no idea how I came upon your video but I'm glad I did. I hope people listen to you about Safeco. I had them for many years then one day about a couple months ago a lady shows up unannounced and starts taking pictures around my house and in the backyard some of my palm trees in the front yard where touching my house and they canceled my insurance. You've got to be kidding me. They're using any excuse to raise up your insurance right now it's absolutely terrible. But definitely pass on Safeco.

I’ve had State Farm office for over 42 years. I have them now and my vinyl siding middle of the state SC home for about $1200 a year and auto insurance from $25-$80 a month. The only thing not covered is flood damage but if I get flooded it would be a biblical event. People on the coast are getting hosed.

CHECK YOUR POLICY. Insurance companies are raising deductibles, they are writing policies with NON Recoverable payouts, ACV only policies, no payment for cosmetic damage to metal siding, paying for 1 side of siding where the siding is no longer available, multiple deductibles. Insurance companies use to send out qualified licensed adjusters, not they hire any Joe with a ladder and a camera to evaluate damage. Premiums are going up in every state. Online Insurance companies with no agents often have the worst policies/coverage.

I forgot to mention this: check the cancellation policy of your current carrier before going with another provider. They have may have what's called "cancellation fees" they will charge if you cancel before your renewal date. I know one insurance companies that does so for NC and MA.

Hi from southwest Georgia. Car, Merchandise thief has driven up insurance. I lived in California In the early 90s(San Diego) and car thief was bad. Insurance companies had to ask Mexico for permission to get the car back. If they say no it's a Insurance write off. I remember KNSD 7(NBC) was covering a large drug bust that went side ways. In the stock video showed ATF,FBi,DEA, agents was riding in stolen vehicles that Mexico provided. One lady told them that my vehicle, they didn't take the tag off it.

My car insurance E-Esurance pulled out of Cali giving me 2 months' notice, State Farm is jacking up rates for home ins. as much at 53%. There is another large home ins that pulled out of Cali recently as well. Agree with the cancellation fees when I called Esurance to cancel before they were ending, they said no charge b/c we initiated it, they are part of Allstate I was dumbfounded that I could have been charged. Went to Geico for cars and actually is cheaper than E-Esurance. Years ago, I had NJ Manufactures insurance which is operates as a mutual and pays you back dividends every quarter or so. Amica is the same dependent on primary state of residence. House and Cars are paid off during hard times went without insurance on one or the other for a short period and the state you live in gets notified even if you outright own your stuff! So then threating letters come in and potential for fines.

State Farm is the cheapest for homeowners here but not auto, I keep an old clunker car on it to keep discounts. $1580 for a six-bedroom brick. It has doubled since we bought the house in 2011 but we added 2 bedrooms on. One place (Geico?) quoted me around 8400/ yr for slightly higher coverage although would have been cheaper for auto.

I have Safeco as well. It was a nightmare trying to file a claim. It took a long time to contact a Rep from Safeco. And they took a very long time to settle the claim. We had a rare rain and wind storm a couple of years ago in San Diego, CA. We had to come out a pocket to get our house dried out underneath the house. And get it treated with lime, to dry it out. It was terrible.

Insurance companies are the worst. California Department of Insurance has a nice home and auto insurance comparison tool and you can also look up complaints filed against the companies. Your state may have the same sort of tool. I am considering increasing my deductible amount because you don't want to put in a claim unless there is major damage.

Ensure if you have a mortgage that you have coverage because many will send you a bill if you don’t because they are buying an expensive policy for the coverage. I was switching companies and had no lashes but the mortgage company thought I did. They send a notice that I had a short window to provide them proof or they would get coverage at my expense.

Have had SF for way too many years. Just paid homeowners and car around 3 weeks ago, since then there has been baseball sized hail, car was in garage, so house, out buildings and pvc fence are damaged. Adjuster will be here next Monday, not expecting much help from them. They are very helpful when coming to accept the check, but that is it.

Like ANYTHING built today there are good ones and bad ones, but for the most part manufactured homes hold up as well as anything else when they are taken care of. Hurricane Michael in 2018 came thru our area. Homes built to code stood up well. Thanks for spreading the word about the insurance industry.
