Wonderful video, Doug. As always, a ton of information in your video. Nice repair to the flagpole and also nice to see Mom. Interesting facts about the neighborhood and its history. Am certain your Dad and Mom are very proud of you Doug. You have much integrity and a natural willingness to help others. May God Bless you and yours. 73, Dave, AC3HT

That is a fantastic honor you do for your father! 🙏 and you do a great service for your fellow ham radio operators as well. You were extremely helpful to me when I first got my Yaesu 891, and again when I got my Yaesu ATAS, for which I am forever grateful! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, 73 de Doug N4CQD

It’s a sleepy little town. About the same size as when I left in the 1980s.

Hi Doug, Enjoyed the video and stroll down your memory lane. Thanks for your dad's service. My uncle (my father's twin) was into electronics and was my Elmer even though he was no a ham. He served in the Army in the Pacific during WW2. My father sustained a leg injury when he was 16 and that injury kept him out of the war. It also changed my fathers metabolism and he no longer looked identical to my uncle. You and your family stay safe. 73 WJ3U

Wow! So he was no longer an identical twin? Isn’t that amazing? My dad was injured in April of 1945 by a bayonet to the ankle. He eventually recovered and was on a ship to Japan when the bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. After those events, his ship returned home. He had problems with his ankle for the rest of his life.

@@n4hnhradio My father had a serious leg fracture repairing a tire for a dump truck that used two piece rims and the rim blew apart while the tire was filling with air and the lock ring hit him in the leg. He needed surgery to repair the break and all the stress stunted his growth. My uncle's height stopped at 6' 1" and my father's was 5' 7" and he also put on some weight. Up until then, they were identical.

Hay,Love your videos very informative, keep them coming. I wanted to ask you about the mic setting for the FTDX-10 video that you had up on here where did it go?
@n4hnhradioАй бұрын
The FTdx10 menu optimization guide, which includes TX audio parameters, is available for the annual S7 (Executive) or annual S9 (VIP) Patreon membership tiers. The entire video series is also available for those membership tiers. The Patreon members make even the public videos possible. So they have exclusive perks.
