Love your video❤ my Junior High and high school years were good. My favorite time when my school, Greeley Central and rival school, Greeley West high school marching bands marched in the Cotton Bowl Parade in Dallas back in 1973. I played the flute. I grew up in one house for 18 years in Greeley Colorado. My father passed away in that house in 1962 of heart attack and my mother passed awY in same house in 2010 of stroke. Wonderful and sad memories there but would relive them again. House is still there and is well taken care of by people who bought it in 2010. Thanks again for your videos❤

So rewind 20 years before you moved to Cocoa FL... I drove from Texas to Panama City FL with a group of kids as one of the Chaperones. When our time there was done, I said goodbye to the kids and chartered a bus headed to Fort Pierce FL. Longest bus ride of my life! 18 hours on a Greyhound. One of the many stops in the middle of the night, I lifted my head up to see the sign that stated I was in Cocoa Florida. In my mind I thought, "Who cares that there's a Cocoa Florida!" and plopped my head back down. Never told anyone that because I have never heard the words "Cocoa Florida" since. I NOW CARE THAT THERE IS A COCOA FLORIDA!!! Thank you for sharing your hometown with me!! And thank you for changing my views on and of Cocoa Florida!! Side bar... I totally hated High School. To be fair, I hated school. So I say I hated High School because I've blocked most of it out!! But we survive don't we!! Thanks Cris the Girl for being real (in Cocoa Florida) and sharing a piece of you in every video!! ❤

Nice video. I swear to you about 3 seconds before you mentioned having bad dreams, I thought to myself, I'm gonna have bad dreams about school again lol. I'm always in class without my homework in my recurring school dreams. And yes, the anxiety was real, in both junior high and high school. That's the part that you can't exactly look back on fondly. Anyway, I've shopped at that Target for many years. I'm sure you were there. I also parked in that same area I believe, at BCC when I went there for a couple of years. One cool thing we did at one of my high school (M.I.) reunions was, took a tour of the school. That was cool for those of us who hadn't stepped in the building since graduation. And Kelsey's pizza IS awesome! That crust! Thanks for sharing!

At 30:52 you mentioned Jay was shocked your classes outside commenting on Florida being hot. I'd actually be shocked school being inside. I grew up/attended elementary-middle-high school in Tucson, AZ. In Arizona never heard of schools being inside other than inside classroom. As for Florida heat, as an Arizonian I can only say what heat? When moved to Florida just a few years ago would hear people people commenting how hot it was and I'd be like, what are you all nutz it isn't hot. Actually this is nice compared to what used to. In fact I remember one summer had record breaking heat - 124. This was such a huge deal T-shiets were sold all over saying I survived the heat, displaying the 124 and year. Just want to add, because Jay mentioned books and if you two into reading that hotel/convention center behind PapaKelseys every year hosts the Space Coast book convention you should come back and visit and maybe I can be blessed to see/meet you guys. I know I've have been blessed meeting some authors there and (not pitching my KZbin channel) but authors gave me opportunity to create stop motion animations showing their work in fun way

As a junior in college, I ended up joining the Marines since we were headed to war. That decision ultimately put me a few years behind...oh well. So much for being smart. I too was the person who had band/ orchestra in my blood. Started on alto sax, moved to bari, then tenor. At the same time, I'd also take up bass, which is what I spent most of high school playing. Hey Cris. I really liked watching this video first of all because you did a great job and secondly this was my parallel life except it was 40 years before you. My parents moved us to Cocoa in 1958 and I was in third grade. I went to Clearlake as well and I’m surprised the building still looks very similar. It was called clear Lake Junior high school when I went there. I also went to cocoa high school but it wasn’t that campus. We went to the campus which I believe is now Rockledge high school. But we were the Tigers and our colors were orange and black. I also went to the college there but I’m gonna take you back even farther because it was called Brevard Junior College when I attended it. And the building I think you pointed it out as the business building was I think the science building. I think I took biology classes in there. And we never had problems parking. Not that many people went to BJC at that time. When I went back to find my childhood home which was closer to Clearlake, I really was upset because our whole neighborhood had just really disintegrated is the only word I can think of. I don’t know if Byrd Plaza is still there but that’s where the Publix was that we went to. I had friends who lived in Canaveral groves but it was really too far for us to go on a regular basis to visit. And yes I’m in the nerd club. I think times were simpler then but the human experience in American society I think is pretty much the same for everybody. I loved growing up there. We spent a lot of time at the beach and I did surf with my two brothers a lot at Cocoa Beach. Thanks for the video I enjoyed it. And by the way I have also lived in Melbourne and Kissimmee.❤

i didn't live anywhere too long growing up, but I wound up going to a certain elementary school for part of every grade from first to fifth, even when I didn't live anywhere near the town where the school is, the reason for that being that my mother, who became single over the course of those five years, worked in that town. At some point during the past 10-15 years, that school was renovated completely so that it looks nothing like it did when I went there at all, meaning not that it just has a different-looking exterior or anything like that, but that it doesn't even have the same buildings as it did then.

Oh wow, you unleashed a lot of high school memories for me! We lived in New Hampshire while I went to Junior High, which was in the same building as the high school. I was bullied in 8th grade because I was so short and I guess geeky with big glasses. I don't know, but that is when I learned I hated gym class because of having to shower and dress in front of all the other girls. Then we moved to Tampa and I started 10th grade at King High in Temple Terrace. A lot of the kids were well off, but most like me were middle class or below. Desegregation had just kicked in so that was the first year we were integrated. Sadly, most of the blacks stuck together and did not mingle with us unless they were in sports. I was not fortunate like you to have a good step-father. Mine was very mean and abusive and school was my refuge. Not a one of them knew how horrible my home life was. I was always smiling and joking around and made lots of friends. Mostly theater kids. So, I had mostly good school memories, except for when I lost running for Junior class secretary by a landslide to a rich popular girl. Thank you for sharing your familiar places. My favorite place I lived (I lived in 10 different homes by high school) was my old house in New Hampshire that was built in 1850. I felt like that house was a part of me and cried when I left. It is still there but I don't get up there often. In 2008 I was invited inside to take pictures and it had been renovated a lot. There is no place like home, but sometimes you just can't go back.

I would not necessarily recommend living in Cocoa… there’s not much going on around there and I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone. I would definitely recommend Melbourne though, I’ve always enjoyed my time there and there’s a lot more amenities in that area. You could also look into areas more on the west coast, like Plant City, Lakeland, & the outskirts of Tampa. There are a lot of great options within a reasonable driving distance of Disney that aren’t smack in the middle of Orlando or the touristy areas. I hope this helps! Good luck with your move & thank you again for being a part of the channel!!!😊

@Cris the Girl Thank you so much,Cris, for replying & giving your recommendations on what areas to check on in living around Tampa/Orlando. You are very kind in giving helpful suggestions. I appreciate it. Like I mentioned, your KZbin's are fun to watch & down to earth. I've watched Tampa Jay when he & Adam the Woo are together, and now I have the honor of watching your KZbin! I am a big time University of Alabama Crimson Tide fan & and a big Atlanta Braves fan! LOVE both my teams! But the Ray's are doing fantastic & are having a great year. I'm pulling for them until they play my Braves! Can't wait to watch your next KZbin! You're very humble & you do great work.
