We can criticize all day about whether or not a sponsored video is an honest review.. but the game is free and doesn’t require a dime to start playing. So far, it’s actually a decent game with interesting characters to collect. Will there eventually be a paywall? Maybe. But that’s up to you on how you beat it. I just like having an easy game going in the background while I’m multitasking something else

My Review : Graphics: 10/10 Gameplay: 7/10 Character Design: 9/10 Music: 6/10 Gacha: 6/10 Rewards: 8/10 Overall the game is a gem, it's fun, easy to get into and has alot of QoL that AFK Arena doesn't have. The gameplay will feel similiar if you've played TFT or similar auto battlers. The progression feel OK at the moment but you do need to rely on AFK rewards a bit. The PVP is what you'd expect in a game where you can buy power but at the same time you if you're not uber competitive you won't be bothered much. The gacha rate is fine from experience but the number of copy requirement takes out some points. The world is beautiful and characters look great, I'll recommended it if you don't have much time and want to play it casually.

I'm sort of sad how many creators blew up with Genshin and then their only non-Hoyoverse content is reviews/first looks at other gacha games. I know it makes sense because of the youtube algorithm, but it's still too bad. I play HSR despite the gacha, not because of it, and couldn't imagine ever playing more than one gacha at a time. I really like your podcast content, and just wish we could see more of your views outside the gacha space.

I really love having the PC version of this on the other screen in it's compact window AFK while playing Genshin or HSR. It is a fun dopamine hit to open the afk box after several hours lol

I’ve play AFK Arena for a few years extremely casual. Log in. Do some daily’s from time to time and log out. This game is no different for me. I enjoy it a bit more. But it’s just another game to pass time. I enjoy AFK games considering my day is usually pretty busy. And the games I do actually invest in are the only ones I plan on investing my time in. All in all, it’s enjoyable for now.

Ooohhh I wish we could play on a over the shoulder view!! One of the strenghts of journy is its rpg aspects like making conections with your party, and an closer pov would for sure help with that. I played Afk arena for about 3 years very fun, but it fell very impersonal. I really like how journey reuses a lot of elements from it and speacialy how its inspired by Arena's fresco art style. And specialy how you can tell they learned a lot from Arena's previus mecanics

Played the game yesterday and personally speaking I really like it :DD, I like the feature to customize your MC but I feel like they could use MORE options for default hair textures and skin tones since Dislyte, one of games from Lilith Games, are well known for having diverse characters with different hair textures and skin tones the only pressing issue I have for the moment is how the game keeps lagging on me on laptop, tho it may have smth to do with me installing it in external hard drive

Honestly all the ads I keep seeing for this game got me intrigued, but by the title I knew I wouldn't be interested. But the art style, setting and characters seems really nice so I thought I'd watch a review to see what this game was really all about. While the setting is basic, I actually like that about it. I feel like so many people have gotten sick of the basic medieval fantasy setting, that no one was making games in that setting. But I love that setting and miss when games like that were a dime a dozen. The art style is really pretty and the character designs are all really nice. I can see the put in a lot of effort to make these characters are appealing as possible. The gameplay is just not my thing. I want to immersive myself in a fantasy world. A casual game like this isn't going to cut it for me. So what do I think? It's pretty much exactly how I imagined it. Not my cup of tea but I appreciate the quality of it. Also this review was great! It covered everything that I was wondering about.

The game itself doesn't seems so bad (the story at least for me is a little "meh" but it has some good moments), quite nice actually but... If... IF I'd have to choose between this or Honkai Star Rail to spend some money on it... I'd go with Honkai

Oh absolutely. Because I reward story and great character design above ALL. To me the HSR story is either 9 or 10 out of 10. It's pretty top of the line. I love it and can't wait for new character quests or worlds to unlock each time.

It's always nice to see *Sevy* being truthful even on a promoted video~ XD *AFK Journey* can get frustrating and somewhat P2W if you are the kind of person that dislikes feeling "out of the loop": you look at a friend or guildmate's in-game progression and feel that _you_ should be the one leading the pack? _Then_ you will end up spending; If you just like seeing your teams try their best to overcome other teams - be it in arena or "history" progression, then you are safe.

I think it's a pretty and casual game. I think the story is not that interesting so far. I enjoy it for the nice quality of life in a lot of areas in the game, the nice music, atmosphere, etc. AFK in the tile is spot on, it knows what it is. It's not for everyone, but I enjoy it.

Yes, it can. Is it? Seems like it to me. Sponsorship depends on the details of the contract on what you can say about it. As this is an actual review video. It is clear she has free reign on what is said. If they are super short and the person is clearly reading from a preset bit of jargon sent to them, then yeah they have to say what they have to say. How is the time commitment to the game like?

Don't know if you have tried it. If you want to push AFK and Story progression early you can spend A LOT of time... Hours... But eventually... once you run out of pulls and purple dust to continually rank up your champs your day shortens to maybe 10-20 minutes a day and that's it... that's all you need. So most days it's very un time consuming but when you unlock a new area or have gained power and progression you can push for a couple hours... but honestly I have never felt to need or pressure to do so. In this game it feels like the best rewards are sprinkled practically everywhere so there isn't a lot of pressure to PUSH to the top of arena or afk stages or dream realm rankings to chase exclusive gear or upgrade materials. It's weighted pretty well so that FTP and Casuals will also progress just the same but slower. Whales of course have lots of options of things to buy to progress FAST. But meh. I think it's fine game and not too time consuming.

Maybe im not acostumed to gacha monetization, but every new gacha game I try makes me feel like is too much. Banner about discount, you get a little notification about something you won but if you want to collect the rest you have to pay, in game currency that you have to pay real money for. Packs for this, packs for that, looks this offer expire in 7h! All of this stray to your face with constan in game notifications. I just feel so saturated. So even though I like the art and the gameplay, the constant exposure of the game monetization is tiresome. So I played about 12h and then bye-bye.

its like any other cash grab mobile game, shove you in with a lot of free stuff at the start then make it so its impossible to progress without paying or just waiting months to progress while the paying players pass you easily, they will give free codes to make it seem like the grind isnt there but it ultimately is incredibly pay to win and the shop is ridiculous, their "welcome" bundle costs 100$ , they really want to milk you as hard as possible

To be fair I play HSR and AFK Journey as my main 2 games and well. It feels almost exactly the same. HSR is just AFK while your waiting for energy to do what you REALLY need to do. Yeah you can muck about in Pure Fiction, Farm overworld or Sim Universe for limited resources etc. But honestly my real HSR gameplay only takes 10 minutes most days... same if AFK Journey. If I had to rank the games against each other both would have their pros and cons but being AFK style is not really a detriment to AFK Journey in the slightest.
