True. People enjoy different types of games, so it's great that there are so many different ones out there. I've been enjoying WuWa so far (minus all the lag issues! 😑 I hope that they'll fix that soon!), but there is no way that I'll stop playing GI. Teyvat has become my second home!

Here's me, sitting in my own little corner enjoying Genshin, Honkai and now Wuthering Waves witout caring for this Gatcha war that's going on. Genshin needs healthy competition, not for it to be "killed" and I can see Wuthering Waves being that healthy competition that Genshin needs. Nothing will be a World of Warcraft killer but it has healthy competition like Final Fantasy XIV and Star Wars: The Old Republic. I'm not gonna judge the game until console release as I'm having a hard time adapting to mobile controls(I never normally play moba games) but despite that I'm enjoying my time in WW.

I think my only complaints are that some of the audio is janky; music abruptly cuts off if you go outside of certain areas and voice lines get cut off as well as some of the English VAs sounding a little robotic. My other complaint is that there is isn’t controller support for mobile which is a major bummer for me. I play genshin exclusively with a controller (mobile and ps4) since I have big hands and they take up half the screen. Once they add the support for it I’d probably play more. I know there’s probably nothing they can do for the voice actors other than fix the abrupt cut offs.

And yes, they do have, but it is the launch month, we've only been here for less than a week, there's only soo much they could do and prioritize

I really like how they setup talent materials, instead of equally splitting all characters into one of 3 talent material upgrades they split it according to the weapon type. Great way to prefarm materials

I do like how the devs are responding, but the lag is still so bad that it’s basically unplayable. So much of this game is about precision and I can’t do it when it’s a slideshow. I hope they can eventually fix it

With you on this and i have an iPhone 13 and experience lag. All low 60fps Update: After deleting the game and then reinstalling it works immensely better. Currently running 60fps with ease now. Only experiencing ping dips every so often but thats it.

Honestly I'm devastated that the game is not available on console yet. As someone who has to start out on mobile, it makes me cry a river when I see how good the game actually looks on pc 😭 and since there isn't even controller support for mobile yet, I had such a hard time with the intricate fighting system in the beginning. It took me multiple trys to give this game a chance because it almost feels like it was never intended to have a mobile port ... But the thing is that you can REALLY feel the potential the game has and that's what made me come back to it over and over again, even if the mobile support (as of now) is not at a great state. I just hope more people will give this game a chance in the future 🙏🏻

from my personal experience, here are some cons: 1) graphics: while it may look pretty, it will take a toll on your computer. Relatively high minimum system requirements, so its pay-to-win in that aspect if you don't have a decent PC, you're gonna struggle to play the game in general. 2) movement: this is just for me personally, while the wall run, sprint, wall flip etc. are good, the "inertia" of the characters movement is so bad. it makes it seem you're walking on ice. But this is from a mobile player. But i've also seen people in PC have issue with this as well. 3) combat QoL: camera movement and the enemy targeting is really really bad rn. hope it gets fixed on future patches. 4) resources?: f2p resources are really scarce but idk if its just a new player problem. and some items require a lot of materials just to get. if you're the type of person who's impatient. Don't play this game cause you need to grind (for comparison genshin needs 50 ores to craft a free weapon, in wuwa triple that with 150ores.... this is just bruh). but hey a lot of people likes the grind. and don't let the 240 max "stamina" fool you. For comparison a world boss in genshin needs 40 to claim with 8min per stamina recovery (180 stamina in 24hrs) so in genshin you can claim 4 world bosses in 24hours + 20 stamina extra. Wuwa needs 60 to claim a world boss with 6mins per stamina (240 stamina in 24hrs), so its only exactly 4 world bosses in 24hrs (its a bit less compared to genshin). [disclaimer this does not mean "genshin is better than wuwa", this is just for comparison since genshin is the only realistic baseline for this genre of games and its also the game i'm most familiar with so the comparison are more accurate]. 5) no skip button: some parts of the story doesn't have a skip button, and the character quests have almost zero skip buttons (skip buttons in story quest do exist but it only skips like a few lines and its also not that frequent, so its a slog especially if you don't care about the character and only care about the rewards) 6) mobile controls: its annoying especially the placement of the "gadget" button 7) combat in mobile: wuwa's combat isn't just about dodging and parrying, its also about switching characters using their intro/outro skills. And there are techs that are really hard to do in mobile or almost impossible to do in a realistic setting and its an integral part of the game since you will lose out on a lot of damage if you don't do these techs, Which is fine if you're a casual, but wuwa's combat is supposed to be less casual so what's the point of playing wuwa at that point.

On mobile I found out you freely can adjust where the buttons are on the screen in settings. Moved the gadget button out of the way and it made the game slightly less annoying to play for me. Still making my way through content to decide if this game is worth it to keep playing or not.

Agree heavily with your point on the camera. It's always going to be harder on mobile to pan around but the combat camera constantly loses sight of the enemies on its own. Amazing combat when it does work but man this is annoying.

I agree everything about what you said! So far the game is pretty good but I personally don’t see myself playing in the long run. 1) work; busy schedules. I don’t have much time to play a lot games during my work days. 2) storage. I play Genshin and HSR so I have like 20 GB ish left on my iPhone 12 Pro. (That includes wuwa) 3) starting a whole new game is time consuming and sometimes overwhelming at first. I like to do other stuff like hiking, walking, or exercising other than playing games. I will play the game when the time comes, I know some people will say “oh just delete genshin” or “just buy another phone or get a PC”, I’ll stick in genshin in the long run (even tho there’s issues to resolve and I understand why people are pissed) for the story for the most part, I know it’s casual but that doesn’t mean I want everything to be too simple/easy mode. Hope WuWa runs smoothly and competes (in a healthy way) Genshin that desperately needs.

My experience on mobile (ROG 6) was tbh pretty good. I put it on all high with FSR (which is such a blessing), and it averages around 45/50 fps. And it stays on 45/50 wherever I go and it rarely dips even on waves of enemies. The mobile version also allows you to move the majority of the UI element to your liking. Thank you Kuro Games! The combat on mobile is pretty challenging already, but being able to set it out however I like is such a blessing. And yes, the combat system is very fun. The main problem that I have with WuWa mobile is the text. God damn they are fucking tiny. Can't read a thing in the dialogue option and the skills. And I agree with Doro. The voice acting on WuWa imo is very hit or miss. Some of the characters just make me wanna skip the story and not play those characters (you, YangYang), and I think their audio recording system is also a bit wack. The mouth flaps and the "sssss" sound at the end of each line is too noticable. Could be the mic, could be audio mixing decisions, idk. As for the story, the intro is really whatever. I gotta bring Genshin here, since it's my comment, I do what I want. For Genshin intro, at least we are made aware of the traveler and the traveler were given time to tell their identity. Traveler got caught by an unknown entity, lost her sister, caught Paimon, now wondering around to find the sibling. After the first 5 mins, I know who they are, what they want, and their quirks. On WuWa on the other hand, it was like: "Hey, you're Rover, right? Oh you lost your memory? Cool. Anyway, the Tacit Discord are blablablablablabla." Man at least make me attached to the main character or smth. Idk if they intend it to be mysterious or smth, but I just don't like the intro of WuWa. I hope the story get better. Anyway great game, great potential.

Wuthering Waves is soo much better than Genshin Impact and here are the reasons: 1. Graphics - WW graphics are 10 times better than Potato Impact which is huge for a serious PC gamer like myself. 2. Combat System - WW combat system is also way better(heaps more fun imo) - obviously massive plus. 3. Artifacts - WW have root based artifacts meaning you can farm much as you want, unlike Genshit Impact's super limited resin plus 99% crap artifacts combo. - On top of that it's million times easier to get gg or perfect artifacts, so many people already have several perfect or near artifacts in WW. - So its day and night compared to game like Genshin.. 4. Wishes - WW wish system is super generous compared to Genshin, so many people got 5 stars within 2-3x 10 wishes. - WW developers already gave everyone one FREE 5 star hero, you know samething Genshin did for 3rd anniversary.. cough - WW doesn't have total scam weapon wish like Genshin.. you get the 5 star weapon you select within 80 pulls(usually much quicker). - Have fun getting Furina weapon by getting another two totally useless 5 star weapon first) Honestly way I see it Genshin died on the release day of WW, personally I've spent tons of $$$ in Genshin but I will NOT be spending another cent on that total rip-off game graphics made for old Nokia phones.

I have been enjoying the game so far! One thing is I’ve been crashing a lot and getting kicked out of the wuthering waves app (I play on my iPad). That one bit pisses me off but other than that this game is absolutely gorgeous so far! The character designs and the wishing system is such an amazing thing for us people who are f2p! I do hope they’re able to fix the lag issues but they’re such a kind and considerate team and they actually listen and take the feedback which is so nice to see because you feel appreciated by the devs!

You can certainly have a healthy discussion even on the topic of which is the better game. The problem is that the people that engage on these topics are not usually well equipped at making good discussion, especially if only 1 person is steelmanning the other. They can also be trolling or just simply obstinate. This is also the internet. My professor in comms used to tell me that people will always have something to say, but not necessarily the right skill to act upon it, which is why twitter is a cesspit. So its a good suggestion to just enjoy the games, but it is also a good thing to know why you shouldn't argue all the time and when is it appropriate to do so.

I love this game so much, im so happy to see it getting the love and attention it deserves, of course, like you say its not perfect but also nothing is. But its absolutely my favourite open world game right now! It seems that many of the major issues are fixed now luckily, ive personally had no issues whatsoever but i have a good PC, but i just hope that everyone will eventually be able to play comfortably. Great video by the way Doro, as an editor i thought the editing was great, the intercut gameplay scenes were funny

Funfact on mid-higher end PCs/Laptops : U get lower temperatures when playing in Highest settings as compared to playing it on Medium settings. FPS remains around the same :D

The story issue is less that it’s a slow burn and more that nothing in chs 1-2 actually matters. It’s also significantly longer than the prologue ch of Genshin and other “intro” stories. Ch 5 feels like it introduced a lot of (good) things that the first 2 chapters needed to at least tease. That the Retroact Rain isn’t used for an MC with amnesia is a massive oversight.

It's told in the story by Jiyan (and the Rover themselves asked about it), that the Retroact Rain only affect people who has deep attachment and has been staying in the area for a long time. Since Rover has only woken up in Gorge of Spirit (which has none of RR) probably a week ago before they encountered RR, the RR won't show their past and they can only see the Phantom from others

@@ydatura true, but there's absolutely nothing forcing Kuro to structure the opening that way. Rover *does* have a deep attachment and history with the area, they just don't remember it. All you have to do is change their starting location, leave them out in the rain before Yangyang & co find her, and you're off to the races.

Honestly I was put off a bit at first but I am soooo in love with this game atm! Everything is very detailed. The combat and the level of variety that they have defined for every single character is astonishing. Many different move features, exploring is truly exciting and fun, the puzzles aren't a pain in the ass (yet) the boss fights are intriguing I like the echo system and being able to imitate monsters powers I think it's dope. Honestly I can't wait to play more of this after work every day.

Regarding Pros: You don't need to spend resin to farm Echos(artifacts) even the legendary ones. And overall the system is really somewhat different from Genshin's and yet versatile enough to actually make you to think about what do you want to put on your character at least for Main Echo. That was a huge and pleasant surprise for me actually.

Honestly I love wuthering waves, the story has been so fun and the open world has got some cool designs. My favourite has to be all the character. Like being introduced to all these characters during the story or side quests has just made me more enthusiastic to play the game as I wonder what of these characters may become playable. I love this game and have no issues with FPS thankfully or crashing, even on my phone where I can use max graphics and run completely fine. I do have some problems with ping but hopefully they are able to sort out all these issues soon. I know they are trying to solve that’s awesome. Graphics, combat, movement, exploration all feels great. Even Echo farming feels good. Being able to use the grapple, run up walls, and have infinite sprint out of combat is so convenient and makes exploration feel less like a chore. Countering feels incredible and so does dodging, the skill progression is just amazing and I hope to see more awesome bosses in the future. And in regards to story, it gets good in about Act V, which is a better start to other games I’ve played where I was uninterested until the 3rd region was released. The SKIP button is also huge for those who don’t care about story, and the fact that they plan to make everything (except cutscenes for technical reasons) skippable is just amazing and shows they listen to their community. Rates are better than its competitors and IMO the character designs are very appealing. Every character has such cool effects and attack styles that none of them are boring to me. I love the soundtrack also for the most part, the home screen soundtrack is probably my favorite though. Their models are also very detailed and have a much nicer base model to me. Great game 9/10 would be 10/10 if they fix the lag issues and crashes others are having and if they are able to add back 120 FPS.

If you go to mail and claim the voucher you get a new banner in the convene where we can select a 5 star we want and we use the voucher to claim it. I agree with your pros and cons. I definitely enjoy the combat and echo hunting. They are also very generous. The story though is still lacking but i think it will be better since it is just 1.0 . I also encountered some issues with the voice over cutting early. Though i play mobile, the only issue i encounter was my echo got stuck and cant summon them unless i restart the game. I could say while Genshin is my chill game, Wuwa is my thrill game. 😊

Speaking as a mobile player: I have actually had good experiences with the game so far bug-wise. It only ever crashed for me once and i can actually run the game at higher graphics, frame rate, etc than i can when playing genshin. The loding times are the same length for me too.

To be completely honest, i love competition and hate brand loyalty but WUWA just doesn't feel polished enough, i really enjoyed the combat it's creative mechanics are fascinating but apart from that Story felt generic, 90% of character designs are medicore at best and world isn't as immersive or polished as genshin's or hsr's (which i was really skeptical at first because it being turn based but after i finally started playing 14 days ago i just binged every thing till penacony and it was truly beautiful both in terms of story , character design or immersion of the world) My problem with wuwa's world 8s that it doesn't really have it's own Identity while honkai has a clear sense of identity of it being a space fantasy adventure and genshin's 7 (9 if we counte celestial and khanri'ah) regioncs feel realy unique and different from each other (not to mention dumeru being a 2 in 1 because it's desert being completely different from the forest)

to be fair. Genshin when first coming out, it was compared a lot to Breath of the wild and with the time when new areas came in and the story and lore evolved it became it's own thing. My favorite game Witcher is a role play open world adventure rpg, gta v is an open world semi realistic criminal role playing game, assassin's Creed is an as you guessed story focused assassin role play game Genshin might have had a lot of inspiration from BOTW but in concept it's almost entirely different it's a story driven, vast open world action rpg game with gatcha elements mixed in (with an atmosphere and world built around representing different resl life countries culture in real time) Star rail Changed that with being space themed , extremely limiting the open world and making combat turn based But WUWA is just literally genshin but better or worse in different aspects (combat being better , world building, story and character design being worse+ treating the player base a lot better (to the point of it being considered bribing) All i said all my honest opinions people are free to agree or disagree with me

honestly, im not really enjoying the mechanics of the game, they feel sort of clunky and not "smoothly" put together. ive spent over 25-30 hours playing and so far its just okay; i feel like it has been overhyped. of course its a new game and there is good to it and hopefully itll imrpove more in the future, this is just my opinion and i can sort of see the game phasing out over time

If you're talking bugs, every big game like this will have bugs and optimization issues at launch. It's to be expected. The issues being so bad a decent amount of people can't play is not good, but they have issued many hot fixes that have helped. They have also announced that they have heard this, are working on it, and given very generous compensation for it. (They have also shown that they are actually doing fixes too and not just saying they are.) Being unable to play the game may also be a bit of user error. It is a diffrent engine than Genshin, so it needs to be treated differently. This is probably a smaller amount of people, but is very possible. Also I do not expect to be able to download this on my awful laptop and play it smoothly, or at all tbh. Story wise, it is a live service gatcha game. It will take years to build up and get better, and even longer to finish. Look at Genshin. If we are talking VA, yea sure it's hit or miss. The males especially have really good VA's, but like Doro said it's like when you start a new show, the actors are trying to fall into the characters and figure them out still. It's not too big of a deal. If you're talking exploration wise, this is the introduction region. If you have a problem that it is a bit simple rn, make a new genshin account and do Mondstat again. The most interesting thing there is probably lighting the fires or following seeles lol. Sorry, if it's long. I was just trying to think of what you meant, but if I missed it you can just tell me specifically lol. Edit: forgot to add, Genshin has also had/still has it fair share of bugs. I've been playing on and off for years (on mobile). The only problem I have in WuWa is some lagging, but I've been constantly disconnected from Genshin servers with tons of lagging. Not to mention overheating, especially in 1.0. Most bugs in genshin are just called glitches and are then patched out in like 2-3 weeks when a new update comes. And even then those are just the serious ones that can cheat the game systems.
