I grew up in an airline family where I learned some flight terminology. Technically, a “layover” means you spent the night between flights. A “connection” refers to stopping at an intermediate airport on the way to your destination (which can sometimes turn into a layover if you miss the connection and have to spend the night in Bogotá). 😅

Been here for a few months. Only recommend it because it's cheap and has a very nice and warm beach. It's also safe so that's a huge plus. Big cities aren't safe, this island is. Other than that everything else is very sub par and falling apart.

Felix, the majority of the native population in San Andres speak English because they are of British descent. The merchants have the custom of closing their businesses from noon to 3 pm. and then they open the stores until 9 at night, because they are of Lebanese origin. San Andrés is basically daytime and at night there are practically no offers for tourism. If you stay in a hotel with paid meals, the food is generally not good, typical buffet service. We caleños love San Andrés, and we go frequently, more than Cartagena or Santa Marta, too hectic for my liking.

I don't know if you explain how hot it really is and how strong the sun is. And I couldn't find anything cheap to eat unless you got to empanada on the side of the road and my girl got sick meeting it. I also had an accident and it cost three times as much as a US
