I'm not sure whether it's a sign of quality if you can bend the shoe like that. They are supposed to give your feet stability. They can be soft inside, they should be, but the sole should be sturdy. Think of orthopedic shoes and what makes them orthopedic compared to ballerinas or converse shoes. I agree though that they are very comfortable and well made. They are def not as bad as converse.
