Congrats to your union! I held my wedding overseas at my wife's hometown and totally skip Singapore one. Too expensive to do it here plus not close to my relatives. As for my wedding overseas, I didnt even expect them to give me angbaos to cover the cost because it's not in my wife's side culture. But for me when i attend wedding here in Singapore, i usually will not be able to give the market rate. Too expensive for me already. I usually go for $88 because it's auspicious. And i truly believe that the couple invites me because they look forward to our presence and blessing. The money is really just a bonus.

for my take i rather save on wedding banquet and use tt money to renovate nicely for my bto which i can enjoy it for many more years rather than for 1 night.

for chinese wedding, like my uncle say, just get a budget decent looking hotel, lunch wedding n invite as many people as possible especially if they are overseas so they wouldn't come n u will earn. but personally, i prefer a small intimate wedding where only those who i know n r close to me are invited

congrats! wishing u a happy married life hope i'll meet my mr. right too personally i agree. i think it is a waste of money to get a natural diamond even if my partner is rich. most can't tell the difference anyway n i'm not a glam girl so size of the heart matters more to me than material gains
