I have been a subscriber for many years now, but I have been closely following your CS2 content since the game released. I have got to say that you are one of the most important members of the CS2 community right now. You have been dedicated since day 1 to providing fair and honest opinions and reactions to the game and its development. I cannot thank you enough for being a PILLAR of this game's community. It is only a shame that more game communities do not have more people like you in them. I truly believe that you are making a difference in the game's community and that Paradox was very smart to have went to you (and other youtubers) for opinions on the game's development and invited you to their summit this summer. Thank you so much for what you do! Videos like this are SO important for a game which has been a little bit of a disaster since launch. I believe we are heading in the right direction, though, and that the game has already improved significantly!
@erikaverink84188 күн бұрын
I agree. I personally haven't played the game the last few months (time and playing stellaris again), but i will buy this package. Simply because i like this game especially with the latest improvements and will play it again. I always make a calculation for myself. That is this if it cost € 10 and i play 20 hours more because of it, it only costs me 0,50 an hour. Cheaper then a beer in a pub. And Paradox/CO games have a very long life span, with all their improvements and DLC's (i know this is an earning model). But buying a game and that is it, doesn't work for me. But this is just me.

They could also be used to simulate redevelopment in historic European-style city centers. In my city, for example, you might sometimes come across a block of older historic buildings with a modern one crammed in between them where an old one once stood. Provided the distance from the sidewalk and everything matches fairly well you could have an area with german or french growables and a few urban promenades buildings dotted throughout. I think it would make the city feel more alive and lived in.

The modern set is legitimately just a full on update on service buildings IMO, the buildings are much more reasonably scaled for an urban environment while looking much nicer architecturally. I think I'll end up using those a LOT edit: I also tend to like the sub-buildings, I wish they were a bit more organically shaped than just squares and had a much bigger effect on the building, but they do help the idea of building a big hospital campus or police campus or whatever, rather than just this one building in a dry square footprint, the hospital or whatever as an "area" feels a lot more real that way, rather than a gamey square plot where you have to remove fences with move-it and do a whole lot of editing just to get to that look

I think it’s crazy how many of the educational facilities are multi story. Of the 4 schools I went to since 1st grade only 2 were multi level. I’d love to see more single story schools. I’d love to see high schools that resemble those you’d see in Texas/Oklahoma where it’s more like a campus. More customizable in that sense.
@Project2457official8 күн бұрын
That is more than likely because you went to suburban schools! Many of these schools are centered around higher density suburbs which typically are less car dependent-while I wouldn’t mind more single story assets the small elementary and high school are certainly pulling their weight. For a while we lacked these urban, peri-urban and denser suburban assets and had to contend with all the large footprint elementary schools.

They're really good assets I think, but for $8 (and not supporting steam family share (some CS2 dlc does, and some doesn't)), and in the UK being 10% more expensive I can't see these being worth it. Maybe bundled in with other DLC and on sale they could be worth grabbing, but they seem pretty small for their price.

Wait, these don't support family share?! I'll ask CO about that. That's super not okay imo. I have a family share so I'll test and get a list sent over to them.

@@CityPlannerPlays On SteamDB "Cold Wave Channel", "Soft Rock Radio", "Bridges & Ports", and "Modern Architecture" are down as family sharing disabled which I think is accurate but I'm not 100% sure. Thank you for getting in touch with them about it, hopefully that's something they're able to fix :)

@@CityPlannerPlays Just seen that the radio dlcs are now the only ones that are marked as family sharing disabled!!

Mixing them with the European packs you could make a good recreation of Edinburgh. Edinburgh has a lot of modern looking buildings with green grass roofs.

I enjoyed the video and these types of vids, so thx CPP. That said, I dislike extra paid content for a game with issues especially the P2W feel of a lot of the service buildings.

Hopefully they keep this up. Looks promising.

Got this as part of the ultimate bundle, and along with all the free stuff we've been getting, it is really fleshing out the content nicely. Regarding the price as stand alone DLC, I think the price for both = three or four cofees is pretty good. Long after the coffee is a distant memory, you'll still be using these assets :) I'm hoping for two things with the Japanese and US assets: More business buildings, and please for the love of god, give is some two story commercials (not mixed). I have been trying today to build a small 'city', and the assets go from single to 4 floors with little to nothing inbetween. Though I love the French and German packs, they are, for my current build, just too tall, although the aesthetic works well. Asset creator is much needed, as we really do need more *tiny* assets - some small stores and homes. The UK pack had to do row homes in blocks of three or four to get them looking right; i.e. the front of a typical row homes in the UK is only 5 to 6m (and I know as I have lived in a couple). The last one I lived in was about 12ft wide, and about 20ft deep+yard. Also a use for more diverse 1u wide assets would be as 'space fillers', so we can space out our regular buildings in a more realistic and organic way. Great vid CPP. One quick question ... I saw a vid of yours the other day where you used anarchy to remove some sub elements (tables, hedges, signs etc.). Then you moved the asset without it reverting to standard. When I touch an asset or adjust a nearby road all the sub elements re-spawn. How did you manage to 'lock' these out? Thanks!

Better bulldozer. Then click on the leftmost button and remove subelements. You can’t remove one at a time (won’t stick) but the other two options work. Good luck!

Unless the DLC is actually worth buying but most of the time it's not.

The second pack is what additional content should be, balanced and adds extra variety to the base game. I will be getting it. Thanks for showing me the differences and allowing me to choose.

With respect to all the service buildings we now have (most of them better than the vanilla game), I was curious about what you said with respect to using certain assets instead of the vanilla ones. Especially since you tend to tell a story with your cities and allow for natural growth and changes (mulligans aside), would you start off with a non-urban school/fire station/etc and then change to one of these when you urbanize? Or fudge things and start off with one of the urban ones?

I want an Art Deco pack so much, I'd love to have a 1920's looking downtown.

That Bus hub reminds me more of the buildings here around Ann Arbor, except the big one I pass by on my way to work is much shorter and longer. I would really like more buildings of that style though.
