@Dustin Hawk Fair point. In terms of graphics, Showcase and Punk, 2K15 is my favorite. In terms of features, match types, Career Mode and Universe Mode not so much. I'm like Pulse. This year I was hoping for GM Mode to come back, more returning match types like I Quit, 3 Stages of Hell, Special Referee, etc, Universe Mode to be overhauled with GM Mode and Story Designer features (if we didn't get GM Mode back), Create a Finisher, and custom music among other new things. I thought this year would be the year this series finally hit its peak, and be back to where it used to be. Then, I see what we are getting, and I am stunned to say the least.

2k really botched the Yukes situation bad. How do you get to a point where you have no commitment for a re-sign, a game due in 12 months, and no backup plan? Unfortunately the Release Date isn't their sole decision to make. WWE has to approve it. Also, pushing the date back wouldn't have changed anything. They need another full year to really wrap their heads around this and really build it from the ground up. But their contract with WWE stipulates "yearly release" so, legally, they can't take the time they desperately need.

Quick follow up, I've watched yours and Chris's "honest thoughts" and as a die hard fan of wrestling and the WWE games, I hope people at 2K watch creators reviews with an open mind because there seems to be a shared consensus on the upcoming game. I'm not a designer or anything, but I have enough knowledge of game development to understand that there could be a possibility in upcoming patches, they could fix things like the hit detection, the hair physics, frame rates etc. Naturally expecting a graphics change is unreasonable. I think 2K had to make a deadline...that was their main priority. Now that it's out in a couple of days, I think now they can work on issues that I feel they're aware of. Yes I think it's fair to credit 2K with trying to make the best of a shit situation with Yukes leaving etc. They made some cool new features... however it doesn't detract from the fact this game (as a whole) feels like a step down from 2K19 dare I say even 2k18. So hopefully In the coming months with new DLC and the patches they do here and there. they'll be able to weed out some of the things that make the core gameplay aspect wack af. At least those are my hopes because at the end of day as a consumer I'd like to believe there's value in pre-ordering the deluxe edition so to not regret the purchase. @kor9 How do you know what they did or didn't have planned for 2K20 before Yukes left and they found themselves having to focus on completely rebuilding the entire game in under a year? Also, Match Types, I believe, aren't really 2K's decision to make. I think WWE makes that call like the Rosters and Release Schedule. WWE dictates the majority of the licensed content that can and can't be included in the game. That's the reason why the Rosters are NEVER right. And that would explain decisions regarding Match Types. I mean, Hell, WWE has a say in what Create Modes can and can't do. They're the reason it took so long for us to get Edit Superstar as customizable as it is in 2K19. When that feature first came out, WWE really restricted what it could do because they didn't want people to take their male superstars and making them all pink and stuff like that. Still bummed that you can't edit Superstars Hair though. So, yeah, a lot of the complaints I've seen over the years have less to do with the Developer and more to do with WWE. I can't believe WWE Games have been around THIS long and there are still people who don't realize just how much influence WWE has in the game's development and how little influence the Developer actually has.

UM isn't the best but I can still create too rivalries and stories on my own, it's my world. Longevity wise, it'll take me a while to do everything and if gameplay became worse than I'll just have to play to see it. People complain about lack of new matches which I would too but with the new weapon wheel z you can create your own matches like chair match or a non tornado tag team match with tables (hopefully). I doubt it'll be bad, I really do. Make it count. It sucks we don't have CAC yet but it's coming, wait till the game drops

Same game as last year but with some new modes, you can tell they spent most of their time with the Originals because they left out on some popular wrestlers like Walter, Donovan Dijokovik, Imperium, Kushida, Lio Rush( understably), and more. Same shit different year. If you liked last year's game you'll probably like this one too.

Honestly the only thing I'm excited about is the fact that you can have custom matches appear in match tables, in Universe mode. I'm gonna make a One on One match and Name it #1 contender's (World Title)etc. And other match stipulations like "Career on The Line", where I will manually release the superstar after they lose, 2 out 3 falls submissions only match. Other than that the game looks the same, but with more glitches. Though they will probably patch a lot of those glitches.

They even put Elias’s real enterance and have that stupid guitar entrance for Oreilly everyone wanted last year lol. Yeah it won’t be perfect but I’ll still take it. They did what they could and still delivered a lot I think. The gameplay and physics are where the problems will lie mainly. So hopefully it won’t be too bad. But we’ll all find out next week.
