I've been planning to make an atmospheric horror film, for many years. For the time being, it's on indefinite hiatus (for now, I've been trying to get caught up with AVGN and the web videos). I might even make something different. But rather than waiting around, I figured, I'd love to tell you the story. Just Act 1, to avoid spoilers. So just sit back, relax, and let me tell you a story.
Cinemassacre Crew:
James Rolfe: / cinemassacre
Justin Silverman: justysilverman.com
Kieran: / kieeeeern
Check out the new AVGN video game:

Instead of a movie write a horror novel on this, people would flock to stores and apps to read it. After the popularity it could get picked up for a film adaptation. From what I've heard you talk about I'm invested in this story now and would love to see more original ideas like this.

Okay, this NEEDS to be made! Whether it's into a film or a novel or graphic novel, it needs to go beyond the pitching stages. It could have the potential to be all 3. Start it off as a novel or graphic novel, and later on you could adapt it into a film, like Clive Barker did with The Hellbound Heart when he adapted it into Hellraiser. We need to see more horror films with this level of emotion, instead of the studio horror movies where we hardly care about any of the characters.

I've actually been developing a small video game involving a defunct park, except the theme is kind of the opposite: instead of older people nostalgic for the past and the fear of impending mortality, it's about younger people in denial of their impending adulthood and about the legacies that will remain past our time. Theme parks are honestly rich with concepts for stories and there aren't a whole lot of them, oddly enough.

I think games are the most complicated art form. But movies are really complicated as well. Also the film sounds amazing.

I feel like the ending is going to be them seeing the dragon and realizing it's just a cheap knock off like everything else in the park

Great premise! As for the title, I think I would go with something like *”Dante’s Carnival”* after the name of the main character and the broad similarity the story seems to have with _Inferno._

@Maddoxk Emerson: Wow. That’s actually a very clever title!

Instantly reminded me of a place I’ve been: Rock City gnome cave in Tennessee. I could imagine James’ movie idea taking place in a place like that

"Will your memories die with you, or will you die with your memories?," pretty much come off sounding like they mean the same thing, only worded backwards. Maybe something more like, "Will your memories die with you, or will you die because of your memories?"

This kind of reminds me of James old movie called “A Dragon in My Dreams” but way darker. It also has lots of creepypasta vibes, and I like it.

James I love the idea so much, it’s so you! Also have been trying to pick up pieces from former places and experiences that never end up being the same such as universal without the back to the future ride. This would hit home!

I for one would happily go without new AVGN for a while if a horror film were on the way!
