Continuing and moving on with life is so important, even though it feels so hard and difficult. Doesn't mean we'll forget or replace them, it's just part of loss. Keeping a physical space open for someone who's gone, does not serve anyone. The memories will forever be the most precious thing we have of them.

Watching you go through the process of cleaning out Mickeys stall made me think on the recent loss of our German Shepherd, just a day after Christmas. I was surrounded by all his things and the way we'd rearranged things around the house, because he was blind, was just that constant reminder that he was gone. Cleaning out his things and putting the furniture back was sad but healing in a way. Its like taking that step of learning to move forward and live without them. My heart goes out to you. I pray the sting of your recent loss is slowly replaced by the wonderful memories you have of him and the fact that you gave him a beautiful life.
