first started watching your channel when you posted your old HH videos, I do have a small force centred around Anacharis Scoria although im yet to play test using them. every game i've played against them as World Eaters has always been a very close lose by only 1 or two points. they do seem very hard to get into compared to WE but it'll come with games.

I have played against them several times in Heresy thus far. Both with my Custodes as well as my Alpha Legion. In both cases, I have some hilarious stories. A Custodes grav tank being blown up by one of my other grav tanks when the Menchanicum controlled it, lol. And my newly painted Alpha Legion Kratos that has only ever been on the table once and was blown up before it was ever able to shoot, by the reaction that let the Magos and its unit move and attack, throwing a Metla Bomb at the tank. With Custodes I have learned that I have to close the gap ASAP. But the brutal thing is the amount of Interceptor fire that a Mechanicum army has. They are a good match-up and counter for Custodes. And I have about 8K of Custodes and every model/unit except the two large flyers. And unlike 40K, I've had a blast even when I lose to Mechanicum.

Very nice army, big fan of the forgeworld mechanicum line. I've always wanted to collect a mechanicum 30k army, but they're more expensive to collect than marines. I'll get around to it at some point. Some of those kits going to plastic would help so much. Plastic thalax please.

It always crushes me that Fires of Cyraxus got dropped. I'd love to own any number of those tanks and big robots, but i never feel like paying for that much resin is worth it, since i only play 40k, and not HH.

I believe that Castallax are legit simple robots, which need to be programmed. Thanatar too. Not totally sure why certain robots stopped being used by the mechanicum.

I don't think that advanced reaction is all that easy to mitigate, it just has a different effect than it looks like at first glance. Think about it. The opponent REALLY doesn't want to shoot at that one unit - which means you get to put it in places where it would normally get blown to smithereens. On objectives, in perfect vantage points, charging down the middle of an open field, whatever. As long as your other units are close enough, you get to put your opponent in the supremely awkward position of having to choose between firing at the unit and triggering the return fire, or just allowing themselves to get charged by Myrmidons.

Hmm. Maybe it's just me. I've played Admech a dozen times since the update and I've managed to use it once.

@@wintersSEO but that's my point: you can still benefit from the ability even if you never activate it. Because, as you said, the opponent knows you have it. They don't want to shoot that unit, because they know they will be heavily punished. In other words, that whole unit (which I understand could be something really mean, like the Myrmidon Secutors) has a sort of roundabout version of "Look Out Sir!" where it can't be shot at if there's enough relevant units nearby. If you think about it that way, you start to see how it can still be surprisingly powerful even if you never actually get to return fire. Granted, I've never played 30k so I'm not sure how strong it is in practice, but I recognize this sort of situational ability from other games, and I know you have to think about how it limits the opponent's choices before you figure out what it actually does, let alone if it's good or not.

liked the presentation.. but about the lore bit to my understanding you technically incorrect. the 40k Castellans still have brains.. just the wavers to filter their thinking in fact semi intelligence or intelligence that is non organic is still banned in 40k-- lorewise most flak batteries have a brain in there in 40k for that reason and technically the myrmidons are still around.. the ursarax are not around anymore though.. plans lost and that-- Thanatar and castellax and Domitar still exist.. but they cannot build new ones in any number and they became so rare people are afraid to loose them.. also Thallax are still around for the Ordo reductor... but tbh that ordo is way more known for their potential planet destroying artillery than their "grunts" in 40k universe... but i guess if you dont read the RP thingys and just look at the army books their is no way of knowing most of the 30k units are still around but just way more rare.
