My first thought was the drugs to be honest. But after the nurse confirmed that she saw them too and I also thought of Becky. I definitely feel Becky’s presence the most when in nature but I felt her there with me in that room. 🦋💚💙

Glad you're doing better Jim, try not to become too impatient and rush your recovery, I can relate to what you are going through. in 1960 while serving in the U.S. Navy my skull was crushed and I spent 13 months in Saint Albans Naval Hospital on Long island, NY undergoing a craniology operation/recovery to have a 4" metal plate placed over the hole my skull after the bone slivers were vacuumed out of my brain. So cheer up Jim, you're only down for 6 weeks and they will fly by fast and then you and Olive will be back out there making more videos for us to see......Carolina Cowboy

I woke up violently throwing up bile for 14-15 hours, I was supposed to stay 4 days but on the evening of the third I asked the doctor to let me go home, I had the Posterior Lumbar Fusion, with removal of bone spurs, 4 screws, 2 rods and spacers with bone growth stimulating biologic injected, be glad you had the Anterior, people seem to do much better, I was still in extreme pain when discharged and over two months later I am still in pain, the sciatica is improved but still there, in my back where the incision is, I still feel pain and strain in that area as well, not sure why they had to do the Posterior technique on me, I also have the most pain and trouble getting in and out of bed and turning over. I have two furbabies that are deaf, makes no difference to me, they are wonderful. I pray that in 2-3 more months it will all be better, I can not wait to be able to bend again. I hope your surgery ended well.

So glad you aren't sick anymore...I hate that about surgery. I didn't know they cut you open from the front, for spine surgery; that would not be good for me. I have lots of adhesions from a lot of digestive tract surgery, so that would be out for me...I'm sure they are bad really bad now too, at least that's what my doctor told me. I really don't want anymore surgery, even though I have a horrible back now...so many discs are messed up in it. You are looking good right now, thank goodness! Very nice view of the city, from you hospital room too...but, that lightening strike doesn't sound good!! I'm so glad it's all over, at the least the surgery part, now on to recovery!! Hugs😊🙏💖🐾💖Awe, their kitty is so precious; that is great company for you, while you are without your furbaby, Olive.💖🐾💖I'll bet before you came there, she may have gotten lonely during the day, when your friends are at work...so, actually it's a great help to you both...she has company & you have her to help you heal...they say pets are so good for us when we are sick...they say they can actually help speed up our recovery! I'm glad you both have one another while you're there!! Bless you both and Olive too!

So they went in from the front.....Yikes.....It is amazing what causes pain. The worst abdominal surgery I had was 1/3 of my Pancreas removed.....Woke up with a NG tube through my nose into my stomach.... constantly bouncing around in there clearing out all the stomach acid so there would be no tossing my cookies. Have to go behind stomach to get to pancreas...so I relate to having things moved around. We survive these ordeals, thank You Jesus. Thank you Lord for answered prayer. You are doing amazing....Good call on the meds. Take it easy Bud. Continued prayers for speedy recovery. 💕✝🙏🏼🐾💕🤗

Jimmy you look great and getting around amazingly well. I did not realize you were having a Anterior Lumbar Fusion that is an intense surgery. Follow doctors and therapists orders so you fusion takes hold and builds the bridge to complete the fusion process. Your friends cat is beautiful glad you have a fur baby to keep you company. I’ve had 2failed back operations and I tell you it was pain I couldn’t stand. Being on pain management now for 12 years is just to much but I can’t function with anything. But I saw a new Dr and he wants to go from the front and put a cage. Well I thought about it and I’m 64 and just don’t think I can do it but past the bitching I’m so glad you came out of it so well, stay well Suzanne

My husband I guess was very lucky when he had Spinal Fusion surgery. The surgeon used a needle put a puncher in his spine with a needle and glued his spine together. all he had was a bandade on his back where they put the needle in. T%hat was 10 years ago and he felt great ever since the prodcedure. Praying for you Jimmy.

You are doing GREAT for the type of intensive (deep) surgery you had so recently! It really helps that you have such a calm, easy-going nature🌝.. and seem to live in-the-moment with healthy gratitude!! So, you'll heal really fast..but PLEASE try to keep a pillow within reach, in case you cough or sneeze, so you can hold the pillow on your stomach to protect it for safer healing. You look extremely healthy.. but to be safe & careful..please PAMPER yourself during the time you NEED to heal.🌝

Jimmy, so good to see you out of the hospital! I've had the (open the belly up and move innards aside) 3 times. Take it from me - don't lift or be any more active than necessary. Otherwise you'll get adhesions. Not worth it. Really! As to getting up from a seat: 1) have a pharmacy deliver a toilet riser to you. 2) you can use a walker to assist in getting up from a seated position. Use the lower bar (bars). 3) a butt height bar stool from a thrift store is a good idea for temp use, Otherwise, Harbor Freight Tools has an excellent camp chair with arms that's not too hard to get up from. Especially after the first 10 days, but you might check with your doctor's office about that. Hope this helps!

Jimmy you're looking good, so glad to see you doing so well. If your stomach still hurts from the incision try using a pillow when you stand. Place a firm pillow over you tummy & use your legs to push yourself up, instead of using your stomach muscles. If you're laying down roll over on your side & put one leg over the edge then push it against the side while pushing up with your arm on the side you rolled onto. It keeps you from using your stomach muscles. I've had two major operations in stomach area one being my back surgery & both times the therapist showed me how to do this. It really helps to keep the pain down! God bless you & prayers for quick healing of your body

Thanks for your video, I am having my L5-S1 in Feb. I already had my L4-L5 last Feb and they went in from the belly and I had complications and almost died on the table. This time it's a TLIF and the surgeon said it is 3 times worse from the prior surgery. Thank you again for the post, it reassured me that my surgery will go smoothly. Hello Jim, trust me I've had back surgery from the front & the back & the back surgery feels like U were hit by a TRAIN, SEMI, a HORSE KICKING u up Ur back side & a BULL dragging U around the BULL Pen. the front surgery is much much better so I counted my Blessings when they did my last one from the front... U would really HATE that..... I'm so Happy that Ur up & walking & doing it that well. I still have problems, but then I'm dealing W/Other health iss. as well ... Way To Go.... I can't wait until Ur on the road again...

Hey Jimmy, I have followed the “tribe” on KZbin for a couple of years now and the only comment I have ever made was once to Asia and recently to Carolyn. I have been with my wife throughout all her hospital surgeries and testing for her Crohn’s disease treatments and I can relate to hospital stays. Lucky! I had back surgery. A week in hospital. 3 weeks in a rehab hospital. Still can't walk! But I had a huge tumor removed off my spine. Jimmy you will be back with Olive on the road next month! Yay! Jimmy! ❤️

You look fabulous. I know that the crew at the hospital must have loved taking care of a celebrity like you. I hope they realize the KZbin star you are! Follow all the doctors' directions and keep doing your physical therapy. When you have good therapists, they can make you achieve alot more than you think. Thank you for sharing. I loved seeing the Sear's Tower. I visited Chicago many years ago. I went up in the elevator to the observation deck. I remember the man prying the door's open with his hands and stepping out into the sky. I actually looked down over the edge and it was amazing. Hope you go up to the observation deck and lean over to see the ground. Scary; but fun. Saw Ausia with Olive and enjoyed seeing them.

Glad you through the surgery. You said intubated correctly 💥. Keep feeling better. I rarely post but have been watching a long time. Take care. Be patient with yourself. 💥💥💥 whenever you sneeze or cough, quick put a pillow gently but fully over your incision. It is supportive and hurts much less.
