I don’t think Mr. Capaldi ended up doing tests on her nor did the head liquid damage lead to her being dumped. The reason is because when Mr. Capaldi requests to take Klara the mom basically says no she deserves the slow fade which is what she experiencing at the end.

I thought the “high rank” outfits the adults wear as Klara notices was just a distinction of social class, like perhaps the “higher ranking” people wear finer clothes..

It’s been so long since I’ve read the book that I’m not 100% “in the story” anymore, but what exactly do you mean? There’s an AF-version of Josie that is being built which Klara is meant to be transferred into I case Josie dies, you’re referring to her?

I just finished reading the book and I loved the writing how it is so simple and nuanced. I was just annoyed with Klara sometimes due to her being so naive to the ways of the world. My sweet Klara is so silly and naive.

True, Klara’s point of view is often rather “childish” and naive as she basically is a “kid” herself, right? i remember wishing she had acted differently at Josie’s party but given that Klara herself was overwhelmed with the situation it made sense how she couldn’t cope with it☺️

Personally, it was my first Ishiguro and, having read more of his other works, it’s definitely one of the more approachable ones! I’d suggest starting with Klara and the Sun of Never Let Me Go if you’re looking to get into Ishiguro!🤗
