I started learning Houdini in early May this year. It's hard, but fun. Mostly, I only take note from tutorials and replicate it. Nothing creative here.

I'm on the opposite. I'm trying to learn Blender along wiht Houdini as there are no in-depth documents nor courses about Character for C4D. Haha

@@sleepingonthecouch95 blender and houdini? From where, is there any good sources, for blender and houdini workflow? I am 1 month in houdini and I tried to export my sim to blender once and it was lagging like hell. Blender is not good at handling alembic imports. But if you know any workflow then lmk it would be really useful

@@sleepingonthecouch95highly recommend using Daz to create characters for c4D! Their posing system is sooooo easy and fun! You get to just drag limbs around, instead of clicking+rotating gizmos. Plus, they have tons of sliders for customizing characters! And Daz is free! :)

Hi, I'm in the same situation, just can't decide if I should start c4d or Houdini. I like the idea that I could learn more cool things faster in C4d and looks like they also got us good particles on the last update. But I also know that's you can't do as much stuff as in houdini. I mainly just like to do motion graphics and some particle sims. What did you decide to do?

Hey man, i love the video. I'm still getting around the idea whether I should be learning Houdini as I know only basic things in other 3D softwares (C4D and now learning blender, and Unreal for cinematics). Do you have any tips for Houdini ? Would you say you're happy with your 2 month results ? =)

You should not be thinking too much tbh. Especially when you haven't started yet. Learning Houdini, from my perspective, is just like learning a whole new language. So I learn it like a child, like taking a Language Bath. I watched as many beginner courses/tutorial/series as possible (NineBetween, Voxyde, Rebelway, just to name a few) Then choose to learn from a high rated course that specialized a single topic (Applied Houdini, CGCiruit Discovering Series, Rebelway courses,.....) And after a while just following tutorials, trying to learn VEX and such, I'd understand the fundamentals enough to be able to dive deeper into more interesting topic. And yes, it takes quite lot of Money and Time. But in return, at least in my place, putting Houdini in portfolio is definitely a game changer. It's been a year since I decided to learn Houdini and now I'm quite confident to apply it to any kind of works.

Are you going to integrate Houdini into a workflow with another software (Like c4d) or do you think you will be able to transfer your entire 3D workflow to Houdini?
@sleepingonthecouch95

I've completely moved to Houdini. Actually, last month I finished 2 freelance jobs with only Houdini and Redshift. It's not that hard to move from C4D tbh.

@@sleepingonthecouch95 Interesting! Not the answer I expected tbh. Do you think it is in a way depending on the types of projects (with more dynamics etc) you do or can any type of project be made in houdini in your opinion?
@sleepingonthecouch95
@sleepingonthecouch95 7 ай бұрын
@@pietr001 for now, it depends on my clients. I have 2 usual clients who book me quite often. They love fabric, liquid kinda things in their ads. So yeah, I chose Hounidi because of that, but just for now. In the future, I'd be confident to say things will be lot easier in Houdini when projects get complicated overtime.

Hey, what render did you use for it?

I think it was all Redshift. I couldn't stand the render time of Mantra. And haven't learnt too deep about Karma at that time.
