If you have Crawdads in your country place them in a large water vessel put a few cups of oatmeal in the water container and put a wire mesh on top so they cannot get out fill the container up with water and leave the water running just a little bit over night the crawdads will eat the oatmeal and they will be nice and clean inside rather than mud vain who want's to eat mud? I don't know maybe it will work for clams as well. When the Rice fields drain 1000's of crawdads drain with the water I can remember filling up a Crocker sack with crawdads every summer when the rice is ready to harvest.
