I live in South Carolina in the US of A While parking in a handicap spot without proper identification is a federal offense, each state is responsible for setting its own fine for the misdemeanor. South Carolina's fine can range from $500-$1,000 per violation. So, while $500 may seem like a lot, it is the minimum fine for this type of violation in the state. I truly enjoyed this video. Stopping these violaters are as important, if not more, than stopping people from driving and parking on sidewalks, in my humble opinion. I would like to see MORE videos like this one. Large fines alone does not work. If someone caught once out of 10000 times, it lowers the expected fine (multiply the large fine with the likely-hood of getting caught). For example of the 360 EUR fine with the 1 of 10000 likely-hood, the expected fine is 3.6 cents. Without enforcement, large fines are just empty threat.
