Which wife did the husband favor? Which wife's house did he live in, which bed did he sleep in, whose cooking did he chose to eat, whose side did he usually take in a dispute? Who did he give all of the attention to. Answer: the second wife. The first wife kept accusing the second wife of taking her turn, which she denied. That man neglected the first wife in almost everything and would not even consider any suggestion that she offered, which would have kept the peace. Every decision that he made favored and benefited the second wife and her children. The first wife had to stand up for her rights at every turn. She was not welcome to come into the second wife's house, where the husband lived, to sort out pressing issues that he refused to deal with, he had the nerve to try to throw her out and she said that she was not leaving until she got an answer to her guestion and a decision to a particular issue. Now that he has fallen ill, all of a sudden, the second wife "REMEMBERS" that her husband has a first wife. She and her daughter are now stuck with an invalid that they don't want to take care of. How many times did you see the husband take a turn and stay at the first wife's house? I did not see that in this entire movie. Since he preferred the second wife over the first one, and it is her home that he stayed in, she is the one that got all of his attention and affection, then let her and her daughter take care of him now that he is a useless invalid. Given the Godless traditions of their community, the elders have a bias that will not allow them to render a fair and balanced decision. They made everything worse. Because of their biases they accused the first wife of being an evil, wicked jealous woman for trying to secure a decent future for her daughters and herself. Even the father finally came to realize that it was his initial decision to take a second wife, in the first place, that caused all of these problems in his home. That was a realization that came much too late. I lay the blame for everything squarely at his feet. He destroyed his own family, the stress, and turmoil of a polygamous marriage is what sent him to an early grave. I have no pity for him. By his decisions he got what he asked for.

These wicked traditions were designed by men to suppress females so that they are completely controlled in all aspects of their lives buy you men. These traditions allow a man to do as he pleases while the woman is forbidden to question any decision that he makes even when the decisions have a direct impact and devastating consequences on her life. It would be interesting to see how you men would react if things were the other way around. You want to be treated like kings? Then start treating your woman or your wife like a Queen and stop being so self centered as if only you matter.

I think as far as the rest of the world is concerned, the father is to be blamed for the sex of the child. If the father contributes his x chromosome instead of y then the mother produces a female child. The mother only brings out what the father puts in! Maybe someday in the near future, this science will be understood and accepted in parts of the world with these traditions.

The father contributes 23 and the mother contributes 23 also. Females have XX chromosomes and males have XY. If the male contributes the Y chromosome then the child will be a male. If he contributes X chromosomes then the child will be a female. Women get blamed for not being able to produce male heirs for their husbands when it is they who are the ones at fault. Down through history right up to the present, women have been made to suffer all kinds of indignities and cruel abuses because this simple scientific fact is not known by most people. There is only 1 True and living God. It is he who established the institution of marriage and he set up the laws governing that Institution. He decreed that marriage is to be between one man and one woman for life. He is not pleased with men who divorce their wives because they don't give birth to male children. If he decides to keep his wife, he does not have the right to take a second wife hoping that she will give him a manchild. That is adultry and polygamy. One day these men will be judged by GOD for this abomination. Furthermore, nothing good can ever, and has never come out of polygamy.
