10 for effort. 8 for good guesswork. 6 for first timer result. 4 for actual result which averages to 7/10 (PASS). Good job Rob remember it takes YEARS of practice. Girls start in their teens (14-16) and get competent by 17 or 18yo. Getting a great result takes at least another 5 years.

@@CharlieandRob I agree, liquid eyeliner is definitely more precarious to work with. Even I occasionally make a mess with it and I first began wearing makeup fifty years ago. I usually use a freshly sharpened pencil for my eyeliner, it's easier to blend than liquid.

Well Rob you're not exactly ready to be a Make-up Artist, but you weren't exactly like a Little Girl let loose on her Daddy's face. Women definitely differ when it comes to what type of make-up they use and how much. Personally I don't Freckle, I have olive skin that Tans easily instead. I gave up using Foundation as Teenager, not long after I started using make-up. I really only use it when there's a formal event like a Wedding for example. I'll get my hair and make-up done professionally for that. I basically use a bit of Concealler and Face Powder to start with letting my skin tone to do the rest. I definitely like to get a bit Dramatic with my Eye Make-up, then use Blusher to highlight my cheekbones and chin.

Charlie, you're lucky that Rob has a bit of an eye for what looks patently wrong... My mother used to wear her foundation about 3 or 4 shades darker than her natural skin colour and no powder, so she always looked like she's just faceplanted into a vat of chocolate and rather than use blush, she used rouge and in a circular motion on her cheeks. It looked like someone had been throwing plums at her. She had no idea about eyebrow pencil or eyeliner and used to look like she'd been vandalised by a four year old. Too often when she had make up on I would be too embarassed to go out anywhere with her. I tried to help her get it right, but she never did. Usually, mercifully, she simply did without.

Not bad when starting with a real challenge and inferior product. Some prefer to visit a hardware store for 2 litres of wall filler and a 150 millimetre paint brush. More practice might help.

Watching men who've never worn make up putting makeup on another person is a painful experience, even though Rob seems to have a faint clue about what needs to go on and when, the tricks of the trade, especially blending of foundation for uniform colouring is something, is something that even takes women a few dozen goes to get right.
