It's refreshing when a channel finds its stride in a way that fulfills the content creator because the energy translates to the subscriber. I've followed content creators that have burned out, not making necessary changes that they need to make, and found that I was uninterested in the few videos they managed to produce, they were very uninspired, and you can tell it was a chore for them... so it was a chore for me to watch. Nothing more beautiful than a happy artist. I find that I even enjoy when an artist is creating for themselves and they just press record with no narration or anything. Whatever's easiest and doable and sustainable is best.

I just want to say is someone else that has a chronic illness, both physical and mental to the point where I can no longer work or even could go back to work and Art has been something that saved me. I honestly find it refreshing to have someone who I am via just sit down and chat and not put rose coloured glasses on over everything we all struggle, and it’s nice to know that we’re not alone and it’s very healthy to sharewhich is something I learned only a recently. Just remember your health comes first and when you’re happy that shines through to everybody else.

I am sticking with you too. Totally refreshing content & I have your channel in the background when at my slope & I chat to you. I live alone so no one thinks anything of it but I have seen ppl burnout and it is debilitating. In any case I totally agree with the preceding comment who said what I was thinking. If diversification works for you that’s great but you do you. My mum always said you can’t please everyone all the time, which is true. She also said “who said life was fair, Claire” and my favourite was “if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all.” Gosh I miss my mum ❤❤❤

Hi Amy! I am a relatively new follower. I enjoy and count it a privilege to be invited into your world. I am elderly (76 yo) with many physical infirmities. Art is my passion. I taught myself watercolor from books and KZbin tutorials. I really enjoy your channel and appreciate you talking about your life--the great, the good, the bad, the ugly. I enjoy your personality and find your videos interesting, your art hauls so fun-‐I am a packrat when it comes to art supplies--, and your tutorials fascinating. I am a landscape watercolorist primarily. I'm sorry for the pain you and your husband are going through. I'm just fresh out of the hospital from major surgery, so I understand your pain. I will send healing thoughts and prayers for your family. Keep doing what you love.

@@winterwoodsstudio It is addicting! I don’t mind soldering but live in a condo now so that’s out of the question. I really liked the beetle as a line drawing. You might want to consider taking pictures to make prints of similar type art work before you start painting. You could then sell prints of both the line drawings and the finished paintings. A nice collection of line drawings could also be turned into a coloring book. I look forward to seeing how your completed painting looks.

I loved the splashing in puddles. I hope you and your husband are continuing to heal. How frightening your husband's injury, I hope he escaped major or long-term physical harm!! Your basement painting studio and the greenhouse both look great. In another video you showed the flag or fieldstone walls, they look beautiful to me. Good luck with your healing and art journey. I admire your focus and dedication to your work in the face of some real challenges! I hope you and your family get to relax and have lots of fun time!! Love jewelry making and other arts and crafts and hope you are able to find a way to make yt and online shops work for you. I think yt wants too much from creative people, it seems like a recipe for burnout! I feel that with lots of artists & content creators I watch on yt, the pressure to keep cranking out new videos seems like it blocks joy and stifles the creative process to some degree. Anyway, happy wishes for you and your family!!💚🐾🎨 PS I'm going to rewatch this video so I can see your jewelry . Also, I have to say that I cringe a little inside when you call your basement "scary." I'd love to have that space! Maybe it can have a new happy, positive, & inspiring description. Like your beautiful greenhouse and garden, it's going to be a vital part of your life and a place to nourish your creativity. Plus it's the actual foundation of your family's home! Hope you don't mind that I said. Anyhoo, hugs and best wishes, Susan in CA, south of San Diego 💐☮️🌞💙

So I would totally dig the jewelry stuff if you incorporate it into your channel…personally anything artsy is all good with most people because lots of people who are creative have many things they design. I think you're making exactly the right decisions regarding your channel - and I'm glad that you're making them now, when the early symptoms of stress are starting to tell, rather than too late, when you're totally burned out and have lost all the impetus to carry on with anything. Your channel has always contained a wide range of material and I suspect this has contributed to its success; I really don't see that extending the range slightly, to include jewelry and perhaps some fabric work, will have a significant impact on subscriber numbers. In this day and age of 'crazy people' we all have to be careful about how much of ourselves we reveal online, but I've always liked seeing the back story of creators whose channels I follow (although this time not so much regarding the bad news about hubby - hope he improves soon!). Overall, I suspect the only major impact of the changes you're proposing will be an improvement in your own mental health and your enjoyment of your various art activities - I think the subscriber numbers will look after themselves and I hope we'll be congratulating you on the 10k in the near future. Take care and stay safe - kind regards, Brian.

Glad to see you are excited about creating again. I know that you've had so many setbacks and have been torn in so many directions (both literally and figuratively lol). It totally sucks about your husband's injuries and I hope he has a speedy recovery. Man, it's a good thing you have 2 strong sons to do your heavy lifting! i am also excited about the expansion of your studio space! I am such a messy acrylic painter which is why I don't do them anymore. Despite putting floor protection and shower curtains on my walls, I still managed to get splashes of paint water everywhere, including the ceiling fan! haha. But I really miss it. I could set up in the garage when I want to do something, but that would require setting up and taking down everything, everyday. Ugh....not at all motivating! As for your content, do what calls to your soul. Oh, and those days where your website is up and open, have been called "shop ups", at least by those artists I follow from across the pond. (Natasha Newton and Kriksis come to mind). I think as long as you say it with a British accent, all will be fine. 🤣

Hullo Amy, I am enjoying watching catch up videos and Lindsay Weirich does her SatChat every Saturday and she just rambles for a half hour or so! I hope you figure out just how to create your art weather it is flat or 3 dimensional jewelry! You should do the restock method of selling your art. If it works out, good for you! Less stress for certain. I helped a friend fix up his basement and it was cinder blocks so we drilled holes and used Molly bolts to hang frames and even sound dampening panels! I had trouble getting his fan exhaust working right but it just need correct routing and a powerful enough motor! Don’t forget to add a filter if you do an exhaust fan! I forgot to use one in my darkroom setup and burnt up my motor with simple lint particles! Thank you for sharing this video and keeping your subscribers in the loop! Good luck and safe healing for you and your family!

I’ll be watching and enjoying what you provide. I was a Pen & Ink artist before I fell in love with a beaded bracelet I saw on Aileen’s TV show……they sent me dozens of bracelet pattens but never the one I wanted. ☹️ But beading jewelry took over and I’ve done some sterling silver jewelry, and would love to learn metal smithing. I’ve always love to create. I went back to my pen & ink and I love it. I love using Derwent Inktense pencils, as it’s easier for me to add color to my paintings. I know the wonderful feeling of not working under pressure 🥰. And the other side of working under pressure 😩 When the inner critic starts, just tell it you will listen later and keep acknowledging but never stop and listen. If our best friend talked to us like we do, they would stop 🛑 being our best friend. Be in charge, turn criticism into positive comments! First thing in the morning, look at yourself in the mirror smile and say good morning beautiful 🤩 I love you! We are having a fabulous day today! Every time you go by a mirror give yourself a pep talk. It may feel weird to tell yourself “I Love You” but after a while you’ll feel that love inside. Just like you do for your family. 🤗 I love the jewelry you make! I didn’t see one I didn’t love. You are extremely talented. It’s a shame problems occurred and you left Esty. You were in good company as there were a lot of people leaving. It’s not all handmade anymore. I’m so sorry about your husband’s recent serious injuries. It’s hard to wrap my head around how these men could walk away like. He’s in my thoughts and prayers for a complete healing and full recovery. Your son could be having breakouts due to stress. I used to break out on my left hand. I’ll be 73 on May 19. I enjoy spending my time with you sharing your experiences, talents and ideas. Of course family and pets. Thank you for inviting me into your life and home. From my mountain top in middle Tennessee on little acre, I send my love, best wishes and prayers for a full and speedy recovery! 🙋🏼♀️

I also sew and knit and make stuff from air dry clay and I'm trying to learn crochet. Most of us don't just do art. I love your art though and always enjoy your videos. Hope you and your husband heal soon sending lots of healing energy.❤

I know it might sound weird… but I like different things… I’d love to own a paint brush that is functional but also more like a piece of jewelry. Do you think that’s something you could make? It would be amazing!

I’m fairly new to your channel, maybe been here a few months, so I’m pretty much down for whatever since the more vloggy content is pretty much what I’m already used to. Even if it weren’t the case, I’m very big on people doing what they want and not feeling like they have to box themselves in to be considered a “good” youtuber. If your happy, it’ll come through and that’s what make content enjoyable to watch. For me anyway.

Has your son with the allergy/hive issue been spending time in the basement? I know you mentioned you lived in an older house, he may have severe mold allergies. Testing the house for mold, and getting him tested comprehensively for various molds (standard allergy testing doesn’t cover all molds) might give more insight. At least it would help rule it out. Also, you might have him get a workup with an immunologist. ❤

We've done all that and unfortunately no answers. No reaction to the allergy testing and no.mold in the house. I wish there was an easy answer! Thanks for watching!

Hope you find answers soon! I know how frustrating the search for them can be… hugs and love to you and your family. 💕

can you tell me what the little blue flowers are? I'm sorry not an art question! I am also an avid gardner and attempting to homestead in central Minnesota and also teaching myself via youtube to watercolor paint and draw.

I used to make jewelry. I have recently gone back to it. I thought I coudn't do my art and jewelry plus I got discouraged selling Jewelry. I have an Etsy shop I am going to close. You do you and people will buy it. I am thinking of selling on Shopify. I do have a website for my artwork.

What does they were green mean?

it means that they were not well trained, or didn't really know what they were doing - inexperienced is perhaps best word.

The first vibes i got seeing your new art space was an old English cottage with those lovely walls. I could see you push that into an artsy clever space! All the best to you and family health.
