I wanted to buy it so bad but it has a play dough smell to me, even on paper. So does Hypnotic Poison. That’s why I literally can’t go strictly off reviews, because I’m the oddball that Cloud smells like BO and Burberry Elixir smells like plastic on.

Fresh too, also vanilla and a little sweet (not sickening). I came home wearing a sample of Libre and he had a sneezing attack. I can’t even open an Ulta flyer that has heavy scents, like Chanel no. 5, Mugler - they all are terrible smelling to us both). I sprayed Armani Acqua in the green bottle and Ocean in the blue bottle on pieces of paper and asked which one he liked (he didn’t know what I sprayed) - on paper he preferred Acqua and said Ocean didn’t do anything for him - just blah - but after I let them dry down on my arms he preferred Ocean - he was surprised how much better and different it smelled after meshing with my skin. I told him that’s proof I can’t go by even initial impressions or I’d be returning over half of what I buy.

@@wendyfrench8042I have the same experience with perfumes! They change so much from how they smell in the bottle to how they smell dried down on my skin. I think it’s so fascinating how each person’s unique chemistry can make each fragrance smell so different. It’s fun to experiment, but kinda frustrating we can’t trust how we like the smell by just smelling the bottle. ☺️

Fun fact: there are lychee (pronounced lee-chee, not lie-chee) farms in certain parts of Florida. My relatives visit every year to vacation and enjoy asian exotic fruits that are only relative to southweast Asia but with Florida's warm and humid weather it makes it possible to have these delicious fruits here!

I think it actually is pronounced the way she said it. I've always said "lee-chee' too. But recently, I realized that the other pronunciation made more sense. Sort of like the words hygiene or plywood. However, English is wild. I'm just glad I didn't have to learn it as a second language. Because the number of exceptions is crazy, lol. I feel bad for people that have to learn it later in life. I'm not sure where this couple is from, but it sounds like they have been speaking English all of their lives. Much of the world is multi lingual nowadays, which is really cool. When we lived in Korea, I met east African families who were making sure that their children were fluent in Korean, their native dialects, English and French. These kids were under 10 years old. It was super impressive! But either way you say it, it's really cool that you can grow them in your neck of the woods. I love lychee!

A bit late in the conversation, but both pronunciations are correct. In Mandarin, pronunciation is closer to leechee and in Cantonese it's closer to liechee. As a southeast asian (who lives in SEA), we pronounce it liechee.

I think its the Patchouli in Sweet Tooth that smells earthy and resembles mold. Sometimes I get that with some cheaper Patchouli ingredients. I love Patchouli but cheaper perfumes use a cheap Patchouli that do that.

Hi Henry. Ksenja, your husband Henry is so handsome. Henry is so right when spraying Perfumes/Colognes or Toilettes most of them smell different on strip paper or someone's skin. I was at work one day I wore a perfume called Spirit Romance from Zara my coworker who is one of the managers name Benson came into my office asking what is that fresh scent smell I told him Spirit Romance By Zara. His response was "It's Smells So Refreshed And Happy".

The 1st thing I thought was, I hope they have coffee beans or ground coffee. It makes a huge difference when smelling different scents. And perfumes definitely mix with everyone's body chemistry different, like perfumes with amber in them smell the best on me. I recently bought the Valentino Donna Born in Roma Intense and I can't decide whether I really like it or not. Has he smelled Prada Paradoxe Intense?
