At the worst moment of your life, your mother basically told you "you're a man, suck it up, you'll be fine." No, that's not how it works. Maybe it was in your mother's time, but that's not how it works now. You're allowed to feel feelings no matter what age or gender you are. She shouldn't have deflected you like that, and she should be ashamed for her behavior. As for her coming back, hell no. Only meet her in public places, never give her any contact information, and if you two somehow end up at the same extended family event, either leave before her and make sure she doesn't know, or after she's left first. You sound a little bit paranoid about her, so giving her any information on where you live is another can of worms you don't want to open. As for your social media, if you don't wish to cut ties, be VERY SELECTIVE with what you tell her, and make a second new account so that you don't accidentally send something you don't want your mother to know about.

If he talks to her any more, OP should definitely ask her who/when she cheated on dad, because why else would she essentially try to blackmail him into staying with the ex? Yes, she’s being put in the position of admitting to being a cheater or a psychopath, and it’s going to hurt her. Good.

She literally tried to gaslight him into forgiving his cheating ex and when he wouldn't, she tried to threaten him with cutting off his college funds. She knew damn well what she was doing and deserves no place in his life. She made her thoughts towards him and his wellbeing very clear. Just because she's in a similar situation as to what he was doesn't mean everything is okay now. If she truly understood how he felt, she should be able to understand that he wants nothing to do with her.

People, regardless of their blood relationship to you, are supposed to want what's best for you if they love you. Sure, there will be issues where what you think is best and what they think is best will come up but at no point should, "Suck it up bitch." be their go-to answer during something traumatic. If the dude was wallowing in self-pity for years and she was just trying to help, sure, that makes sense to say "Get back out there." but otherwise, no. "Go home to the woman that threw away your love, emotionally abused you, and showed you how incapable of being trusted she is." was never going to be the right thing to say. If she couldn't understand why that was the wrong thing to say, and let her son heal, she's not a worthy mother. Even if she disagreed with her son's decision she could have been quiet about it and let him decide for himself. It would be as if he were being chased by a wild dog, he sees her standing at the door and runs to her for help, and she slams the door in his face and says, "It's just a wild dog, man up and kill it!" The fact that her selfishness was so thick that she couldn't even imagine what her son was going through until it happened to her. What a horrible woman and that man chose the best option possible by cutting her out of his life. Now she isn't doing it for him but because she wants to meet her grandchild. Fuck every inch of her.

Na she literally threatened her sons future and career opportunities all because she doesn't believe in breaking up and that he NEEDED to be with this girl that shows how little she cares for the well being of her own child and it was only when she got a taste of tge pain the son was going through did she even attempt to contact him after all these years
