Stefanie was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, a form of Inflammatory Bowel Disease at just 17 years old, which resulted in her being housebound for a year. Eventually doctors decided that after seeing her body deteriorate so rapidly, that Stefanie would need surgery to have an ileostomy bag fitted or potentially lose her life.
After spending so long imobile, she realised how much of a privilege it is to be able to move your body each day and found a new lease of life and fell in love with fitness to help her through the trauma and anxiety she felt with having to come to terms with her new way of life.

I love my ileostomy, her name is Fountain. She saved my life!! She is 7 months old and I have never thought of having her as a disability 🤔 I have been able to do more things with her than without her. 😊

I have ulcerative colitis Currently on the infleximab But feeling very anxious and depressed all the time , joints / bone pain , does stoma bag makes you get back to normal happy life ?
